Jackson smiles sadly, staring at the back of a girl seated a few feet from him.

He wonders if he should step up, gather up the courage to maybe go over and start a conversation.

But there is a stranger beside the girl. Some friend he didn't know she had.

But he decided he would be coward no more.

After hesitating for a while more, he festered enough courage to play a little prank on her. Something he always did when they were around familiar faces.

Getting up from his seat, Jackson gingerly inched over.

But the stranger by her side ruined it.

"A boy?" She asks as she turns around, meeting his eyes with her own bright blue ones.

"...uh...hi." Jackson mumbles amd cracks an awkward grin.

She smiles.

And Jackson freezes, starstruck by the little beauty in front of him.

"Hey." She replies to his greeting, causing Jackson to snap out of his trance.

Desperate to keep the conversation on for a little longer, Jackson continues with the first thing that comes to mind, "Damn... I was wondering if you could study with me... But I guess not..." Upon saying that, he gives the stranger a side glance.

"Aww... We could still study together-" She suggests with a cheerful tone but the stranger cuts in with her own view, "I never knew you were going to invite others to study with us."

Jackson felt uncomfortable. "Uh... Maybe I'll go to the library instead... Have fun with your friend?"

She gives Jackson a small sad smile.

Jackson turns to leave but stops on his tracks and turns back, "We are gonna grab some dinner together aren't we?"

"Yeah!" She cheerfully responds.

Flashing a grateful and relieved smile, Jackson walks away.

Getting back into his seat, Jackson carefully unwraps the present he had received this morning.

He reads the neatly written card once again.

And he smiles.
