When our anniversary approached, I was at a loss for what to prepare. You were mostly the one who initiated things in this relationship, so I thought I'd do something for once, and perfectly.

"Where are you taking me?" You asked me as I dragged you out after school. "The movies," was my vague but clear reply. They had just started screening the show you were dying to watch. The moment I got the news, I rushed to buy the tickets. Luckily, we reached the cinema before time. I showed you the tickets as we entered the cinema and your face lit up like a christmas tree. That was all I needed as a reward to my efforts.

When we got into the theatre and settled down, I passed you the present I prepared - a customised keychain. I told you that I made a pair and showed you the matching one ringed with my keys. "Thanks." You had whispered as you hooked the keychain to your bag.

After the movie, you treated me to expensive ice cream. It was the idea you had to celebrate our anniversary and I liked that. It was a sweet experience.

The anniversary was perfect, at least that was what you told me as we parted for home, and of course, it was what I thought as well.
