Tears fell from her eyes. She'd like to imagine that they were glittering pearls just like the tears of princesses in fairytales.

Gingerly, she wiped away the droplets of tears that splashed against her storybook, leaving stains of her apparent grief.

She closed the book, placing it neatly in the shelf where it belonged.

Her heart was still thumping loud and hard, as if she was still the princess in her book. Staring at her prince embracing another woman.

Grief overwhelmed her. Drowning her heart in crashing waves. She felt like crying once again. But she knew she shouldn't. The story had ended after all. She had to move on.

In the end, she wasn't the princess or that woman in the storybook.

She was just her. A lonely highschool girl.
