The wind brushed past me as I zoomed forward. There was a ringing in my ears, probably caused by the constant exposure to the roar of the engine. The road in front seemed to go on forever. However, a landmark told me this journey was ending soon.

In a minute or two, a sign abovehead told me that I had reached my destination. I screeched to a stop, hopping off my bike to face the view I came here for.

The city far below stretched to the horizon, billions of city lights twinkling like stars. I bundled over to my motorcycle, unwrapping the package slinged on the handle to reveal a camera.

Click. The picturesque scene would now be part of my treasured memory lane.

I took a deep breath, noticing how quiet it was up here. The only noise was the cicadas, croaking in the summer heat.

Never mind the cicadas, but being up here felt comforting. With all the frustrating things that had happened lately, coming here gave me a peace of mind. Maybe that was why the simple city view was extraordinarily pretty.

I found a nice spot and plopped down, leaning against the tree. Closing my eyes, I tried to absorb my peaceful surroundings.

The next thing I knew, I was blinded by morning light, awakened by someone shaking my shoulder.
