Tes P.O.V
The flight to Texas was a bit long. But, I slept for most of it. I was happy that Hoyt was dating & him getting caught was hilarious. But, at least it would be a memorable experience to caught by a vampiric dad. Once I was all caught up, I decided to sleep the rest of the way. When I woke up, Sook had 10 mini bottles on the desk. I groaned since she was already tipsy.
"Hey sleepyhead, are we there yet?" She giggled as the plane touched down. She got jostled & hit her head on the side of the chair.
"Now we are. But, you can tell right?" I snarkily replied as she rubbed her head
"Jerk, what if I was seriously hurt?" She pouted
"I just would have laughed while helping you." I shrugged
"You're evil." She joked
"Evil genius, thank you." I chuckled
The pilot gave some orders over the loudspeaker to disembark. We got up & double-checked that we didn't leave a thing. But, sook was still stumbling around. I wrapped my arms around her waist to support her as we walked. Luckily, we didn't have any large bags. I had a small backpack that had our essentials. When we got down, a limo driver was waiting with a sign: Compton party.
"Yoho, that's me." Sook greeted him
"I'm so sorry if she's annoying." I apologised in advance
"No worries. I've had worse." He nervously chuckled
"I've always loved these. They're like booze for dolls. They gave me 10." She giggled
"You're 2 hours late. You were supposed to be here before sundown." He complained as everyone was being unloaded. I noticed that his focus was uneasily on the coffins. Something was off & I was already on high alert.
"We got delayed for takeoff." Sook explained
"Well, why don't you get inside the limo. I got the AC cranked up." He tried to entice us
"No thanks. It's perfect out here." I declined as I slowly moved Sook behind me
"Oh go on, there's cokes in there." He tried again as his eyes darted to the coffins
Sook read his thoughts & gasped. He tried grabbing me but I kicked him into the limo. He was dazed since he dented it. In a flash, Bill was holding him by his throat. The commotion had awakened Pam & Eric. They were slowly coming up since Bill had things handled. Poor Jessica hollered as she accidentally knocked her coffin off the forklift trying to get out.
"Well, that's one hell of a greeting." I muttered
"Are you alright?" Eric asked as he held me
"Obviously. What the hell is going on?" I angrily lashed out
"Someone has been talking. I'll handle it, I swear." He promised
"You better. I'm tired of being a trouble magnet." I replied before checking on sook
After double checking everything, we got into the limo & headed for the hotel. Eric & bill were interrogating the driver along the way. Jess had a chance to try to & learned hypnotism quickly. Bill led us into the hotel while Eric was giving some disposal instructions. He joined us in a flash since everything was under his name.
"Whoa, this place is amazing." Sook whispered as she took in the dark modern design
"Please be careful. You're bloody bait." I warned as I noticed how hungry the other vampires were getting hungry
