Three days since the explosion.

Despite the fact that the explosion, as far as they were aware had killed off their hunter problem, Stefan had to admit he was curious.

Damon had been obsessed with those symbols since the explosion.

He had literally been hauled up in Connor's trailer for the past few days, digging through old boxes.

"So what is all this?" Stefan asked curiously as he stared at the symbol on the stake that Connor had been carving as his brother walked back into their living room carrying yet another large box full of...well junk.

"Some personal items that I snaked. From the vampire hunter's RV. May he rest in peace." Damon muttered sarcastically before placing the final box down and beginning to search through it "I'm searching for a supernatural handbook."

This box was his last hope.

He had already searched through the rest of Connor's belongings and Klaus wasn't exactly jumping to start explaining what The Five was.

"You know for a fact he was supernatural?" Stefan asked, still slightly skeptical.

It just didn't make sense.

All the hunters they had met had been human, the only hunters in history that were slightly more were Slayers.

But even as a regular Slayer, Buffy had not been considered a supernatural creature. It was the whole reason why Slayers automatically found peace or torment rather than getting trapped on The Other Side.

Connor had been different though.

There was something about him that screamed more than the average hunter and the fact that Klaus had been worried only encouraged that idea.

There was just so much about this guy they didn't know and now he was dead.

All they knew for sure was that Buffy and Jeremy could see his mysterious tattoo.

"Definitely wasn't natural." Damon mumbled as he began pulling items out of the box "Guy magically appears just as someone blows up the entire Founder's Council covered in a tattoo that only Buffy Summers and Jeremy Gilbert can see. Klaus mentioned something about him being one of The Five."

Slowly, Damon allowed his mind to drift to their own personal research junkie back in Cornwall, England.

Buffy had said she was going to contact him the other day.

Well, before she went quiet.

It had been three days since Buffy went radio silent.

"Buffy said she was going to call Giles. She never told me if she did."

Stefan nodded, that was smart, if The Five had crossed passed with Slayers before then there would be some mention of it in the Watcher's journals. There had to be.

Grabbing his phone he dialed the Gilbert home number causing Damon to frown "What are you doing?"

"Buffy has some Watcher's journals at the house, we can start going through those while Giles searches. Might speed up the search, plus Buffy could see the tattoo."

Slowly Damon's eyes widened in realization.

How had he not thought about that?

She was literally an artist!

"Tell her to sketch the damn thing!" He ordered before turning his attention back to the box of seemingly useless crap.

"Hello?"

At Elena's voice, Stefan frowned. It was 9 am.

Elena did volunteer hours at the hospital in the mornings, why the hell was she the one answering the phone?

"Elena shouldn't you—"

"I volunteer at hospitals on Tuesday mornings. And Mystic Falls isn't exactly letting a lot of non-doctors in after the explosion. Thanks a lot, Damon!"

Damon chuckled "You're very welcome."

Stefan rolled his eyes before quickly refocusing "Is Buffy there?"

Silence.

The abrupt silence caused both Stefan and Damon to pause, both of them now glaring at the phone.

If Elena was being quiet then that meant something was wrong.

Finally, Elena sighed in defeat"Buffy took off."

The glass in Damon's hands hit the ground, shattering loudly.

This had to be a joke!

Of all times for Buffy to get a life outside of Slaying, now was not the best time! Plus, even if she did have a life outside of Mystic Falls, why the hell would she just take off with all The Five crap going on?

That didn't sound like Buffy.

"What?!" They both yelled in utter shock.

Sensing their panic Elena quickly reassured them "She texted me the night of the explosion. Said she had a lead on something about The fFve so headed out to the desert with Giles."
