The harsh wind breezed through your hair as you ran down the steep hill, your feet bouncing off branches and rocks with ease as if you were an animal.

It was always refreshing, running like that In the middle of the night, letting the air completely fill your lungs. Sometimes you could even hear a faint beat of your heart if you ran for long enough.

You were dressed in the same clothes as before seeing as you could not get cold anyway, at that point being in a coat was way too uncomfortable and changing into other clothes too bothersome.

Arriving at the bottom of the mountain you sprinted for a short while through a clearing and across a river, jumping on the various rocks in small skips, listening to the quiet conversations of the frogs that came from a nearby pond. "This is truly a night to remember…" you looked up at the moon with a small grin. "And yet most of them are forgotten."

The road started to go up again, at first, the mountain was just a small hill but as you run forward it became steeper and steeper. It was not a challenge for you though, not many things were at that point in your ever so long life. You began to look around trying to spot some kind of wild animal, like a rabbit or a deer, a one that would make for a good meal for Beryl while simultaneously not being too fancy and make him yell at you for 'killing a gift of nature'. Like that one time, you brought him a peacock and he practically gauched your eyes out. Fun times.

As you climbed more and more up you got a little surprised when you came across a small clearing, an old wooden house placed directly in the middle of the valley. You came closer, your eyes skeeming over the rather lackluster design before your gaze came across a familiar symbol that was painted onto the wall of the building. A golden sun engulfed in squiggly rays, single arrow pierced through the stars middle, that one image pulling memories from the back of your mind with such force all you could do was stare at it blankly for a couple of seconds.

Vampire hunters.

Your nose wrinkled for a split second, that was not a place for you to be at. Turning around you were about to simply stroll off before something unusual caught your attention. The doors of the house were broken down, propped weakly by the wall nearly falling off, some of the smaller pieces of wood lying scattered over the doorstep.

"Now what is this about…?" You murmured and skipped over to the entrance, inspecting the dented boards and scratches that littered the wood as if something purposely clawed on them. Glancing up you looked through the tiny opening that led into the completely pitch black inside, a nagging feeling of curiosity pulling on your weak heart.

"I shouldn't pry into someone's business." You scoffed "Especially if all they want is my head." Never the less your whole body stayed completely still, your gaze still planted ahead as if that darkness spilling from the house was keeping it firmly in place. "Ugh fuck it…"

Taking the broken down doors you moved them aside making the moonlight spill into the pitch-black room, immediately upon stepping one foot into the house a strong smell filled your nostrils. A one that made your eyes practically bulge out of your skull and heart leap slightly in delicious excitement.

The smell of blood.

Five completely massacred bodies were laying on the dining room floor, all figures drenched in deep crimson that was splattered all over the wooden boards, walls, and furniture. A woman a man and three children, their eyes wide open in fear that stayed on their faces as if they were statues, carved forever with the same expressions of shock and agony.

You walked over to the bloody scene, knees quite shaky you were conflicted as to what you were supposed to do, the strong metallic aroma still filling the air like an alluring but suffocating perfume.
