The bright light of the phone screen reflected itself off of Clare's red eye rises while simultaneously illuminating her sunken, old-looking face. The vampire had quite a hard time scrolling because of her pointy fingernail that kept dragging across the device like a knife on a cutting board.

Clare huffed, tearing her gaze away from the screen to look down at Eunice who was walking alongside her. "Remind me why are we going out again?"

"To catch more lost one of course." The young-looking vampire stated, starting up at the night sky without a care in the world.

The older looking vampire grumbled in annoyance. "We could have just stayed inside..." Her eyes focused once more on the screen. "So that giant went with Noah to meet the werewolves huh?"

"Yup." Eunice popped the p at the end with a slight bounce to her step.

Claire furrowed her eyebrows, a few seconds of silent walking passed before she asked: "How the fuck were werewolves even created?"

"Probably some type of weird act of bestiality involving a man and a wolf," Eunice answered jokingly making her friend snicker. "But really I don't know, I'm not that old plus these kinds of stories tend to contradict reality."

Clare once again furrowed her eyebrows, glancing away from the screen to the tiny vampire. "Contradict reality?"

"Like ya know…do you actually believe that two giants Ab and Tal fought with each other and accidentally split the earth in two, making the witches sow it back together with a golden needle? Or that the bright spirit Aia seduced the moon goddess and from the power of their love the moon itself was created?"

The older looking woman scoffed. "Of course not. The witches would never help anybody."

Eunice laughed, hitting her friend on the hip jokingly before her more composed expression returned. "But really…most of these are just fairy tales, even if something similar happened before humans were created during the time of legends, it's for sure exaggerated."

"Yeah…it makes for a good story though." Clare exhaled, hiding her phone to her back pocket and cracking her neck backward to look up at the dark sky which was richly painted over with bright specks of light. "So, did any of those stories involve weird acts of bestiality?"

Eunice almost chocked on her spit. "No, no I don't think so." She laughed.

The moon above them was coated over with a thin layer of grey clouds, although you could still make up its round shape that seemed to disperse light through the murky darkness.

"Moon Goddess, huh? The bright nymph must have had a good taste in woman." The smaller creature snickered.

Clare scratched the bridge of her nose with an unamused look. "I don't know…depens on how beautiful she was."

"Silly, it's the looks that matter. It's the heart and emotion! How could you not cherish a woman who birthed a whole star because of her love for you!"

The older looking vampire looked down at her friend puzzled. "But didn't the two like combine together to create the moon? That's kind of scary, I get love but I don't want to live in the same body as my partner is."

"The bright nymph is the reason why the moon shines, it's not a prison but a representation of their love for each other." Eunice shook her head.

Clare groaned in annoyance. "That's some mushy shit…" before stuffing her hands into the large pockets at the sides of her skirt, the black fabric coated in different colorful flower designs.

Her friend laughed. "It's still just a story though."

The two weren't really walking through a forest seeing as not many trees actually grew around them, the grass beneath their feet was quite tall but less green. Small twigs snapped underneath the vampires' feet with almost every step, elevating their footsteps and making the two feel like they were truly alone amongst the thick silence.
