Noah was surprised how quickly he got out of breath, turns out walking up a hill for most of the night is hard even for a person who has lived in the mountains throughout his entire life. He watched with intrigue as you skipped before him, a light smile stretched on your face, fingers comfortably laced together at your back, not a single drop of sweat at your skin.
Noah could only grit his teeth, head-turning slightly to the landscape stretching behind him. A seemingly endless row of misty mountains and dark treetops, he has seen it many times yet it always manages to take away his breath. A familiar feeling of wander flared up in his chest as he stared into the distance, there is so much out there to explore and witness. It made him feel tiny yet not in a bad way. The moon shone in the deep dark sky, illuminating slightly the distant musky clouds that were immerging from behind the faraway mountains.
"Noah." You called out to the boy. He jumped a little in his spot making you smile slightly. "Is everything all right?"
"Could we...have a little break? Please?" The male asked not turning around.
"Sure." You slid down over to him and sat on one of the stones bulging our of the ground. Noah followed suit, keeping some noticeable distance between the two of you, his form hunched over.
After a few seconds of silence, you asked: "Is there something on your mind?"
"Elder...i don't know you that well..." Noah said catching you off guard. His gaze drifted off from the view in front of him, reddish-green eyes falling onto yours.
Your lips pressed into a thin line "That's...true."
"We have been both put into quite an uncomfortable situation...there are still so many things that I don't know a-and you know everything!" He gestured wildly, pouting in the process. "I guess what I'm trying to say is...i-i may not be that much help but I hope you can teach me everything about being a vampire. And...and in the process, I hope I can get to know you!" You looked at the beaming male with a stunned expression. "Or...or something l-like that..." the boy's face became red from your lack of reaction as he fidgeted in his spot.
Laughter bubbled up in your throat, stunning the boy even further. "Noah I can't do that for you."
"What? Why?!" The name panicked.
"Unless you let me get to know you too." You smirked showing off your white canines.
"Oh..." the half-vampire smiled, tension visibly elevating from his shoulders. "Of course I will Elder. You're the only one I have..."
Your grin wavered at that, expression saddening for a second. That's right. Noah was an orphan now.
Not letting the negative emotions get the best of the situation you jumped on your feet, hoisting the smaller male up with you making him yelp in surprise. "I'm not the only one you have!"
"How so?" The boy looked up at you puzzled.
"You have Beryl, Salmo, Izabelle, Alexander and all of The Family with you." You placed your hand on top of the boys head tenderly. "We are all here to help you and make you feel welcomed."
Noah smiled, his gaze filled with adoration. The wind swept through the scene, hoisting up your dark green coat and white hair that framed your face almost perfectly. "Thank you." The boy whispered.
Soon enough you went back to climbing the hill, the boy this time walking a little closer to you, a comfortable silence soaking the brisk fresh air. After some time more and more trees started to appear around you, their hushed whispers stroking your pointy ears. Most of them were small and relatively barren of any leaves seeing as the cold mountain breeze was still present, but they clung strongly to the ground clearly used to the environment. You weren't as used to nature, usually observing it from the comfort of your own castle but you had to admit that being among it was quite a nice change of scenery.
