The moth male couldn't say that he was a brave person. Living in the wild has thought him to put up a confident front, puff up his chest and knit his eyebrows in anger to spark fear in his opponents. But in reality, he was shaking just at the mere thought of a predator tretching his way with its teeth bared.

At least the moon was always there for him.

Peeking between the dense trees with its light of eyelashes like the gentle sight of a mother.

The story of the bright nymph and the moon goddess was the only legend the male was ever told. The only one he really knew.

And what a beautiful story it was.

He spend countless nights simply starting up at the bright globe in the sky and wondering if the two are happy together.

The moon once only a dark speck in the sky, now shining with pure love.

The man didn't have a family, not one he knew of. Coming out of the egg as a tiny creature he had to do everything on his own and somehow he knew how to. Completely automatically.

Like someone told him before.

The only other talking creature he had contact with as a child was an old faun, with dark fur and long dark hair. She didn't have a name, and nighter did he.

In a way she didn't teach him anything, simply told him the legend of the moon, while staring at it with the same founders he looks at it now. She didn't answer any questions about who might he possibly be related to. Only gazed at him with a somber expression.

With a clench of his fingers, the male looked tensely at the witch. She looked astonished, with a mix of fear and anger knitting her eyebrows. The wound underneath her eye sizzled and cracked.

"That...looks painful..." The moth male remarked and immediately wanted to slap himself on the face for saying something so stupid.

"Are you making fun of me?" The female hissed.

He looked around. "N-No I don't think so...?"

Oklopia bared her teeth which made him flinch back as she launched straight at him. Swinging her staff into the air the ground underneath them rumbled, the leaves and grass spiking up and reaching out for his like hands. Panicked he outstretched his wings and dived into the air. Quite shakingly since his wings were damaged but he also was just overall, not a good flyer. None the less the male's attempt saved his life, only one part of a leaf bearly grazed his feet before the tangle of plants halted in its movement.

He landed flat on his ass but immediately picked himself up as he heard the witch's footsteps nearing him. The male turned around just bearly to stop the female from whacking her staff across his face. His sword making a melodic cling as it came to contact with the wood of her weapon.

Her grey eyes bore straight into his like needles, hatred practically seeping off of her. But also...emberrasment.

"Why are you...embarrassed?" He didn't even realize he asked the question out loud before pure shock melted the witches angry features.

A moment of complete silence dragged out between the two creatures before Clares laugh cut through it like a knife.

"What witch?! Are you scared that this little twink managed to overpower you?" A mocking cackle rumbled through the old looking vampire as she stared down at the other female.

As much as the moth male wanted to just stand there and gawk at the entire situation he pretty quickly realized this was the perfect opportunity for another attack. In a swish motion, he brought back his sword before swing it down directly onto the unsuspecting woman's palm, piercing the skin of her hand, driving the blade through it like he was cutting butter.
