The large balcony above you shielded your skin from the bright morning daylight, you were sitting in a rather secluded area of the castle at it's very back.
Resting your hands on the round table you folded them together and glanced to your side at the person sitting next to. Taby was not paying much attention to the vibrant scenery of the gardens, instead, their eyes were glued to a piece of yellowish paper. You watched as they scribbled down with a piece of cowl a series of strange markings, little drawings that would normally take minutes to write appearing on the paper in a matter of seconds.
"To think that you still remember all of them…" you muttered making their hand movement come to a sudden stop.
Taby looked up at you and smiled "I don't remember all of them, I don't think you could even learn all." Taking the sheet of paper they tiled it in their hands a few times. "It's the least I can remember."
You hummed back before turning your gaze back onto the gardens stretching out before you. The vegetation was growing well that year, moss and other plants covering a few centimeters of the porch you were sitting on.
"What did you write?" You asked.
"I wrote about Noah," Taby replied. "He's a great kid I can see that. He just needs guidance which is expected after throwing him in such a difficult position." A small bird landed on the round table between you, the vampire reached out their hand softly as the animal immediately hopped onto their index finger. "This time I won't be the one guiding him though. You will."
At those words, you shifted uncomfortably in your seat. "We both know I cannot do that…"
"It's not that you cannot do it it's just that you don't believe you can." The vampire stated gazing at the small animal. The bird was in a delicate shade of pale blue, a white marking in a shape of a heart on its forehead.
"Have you forgotten who I was? Do you really think I'm able to guide someone after making so many mistakes?" You muttered out.
"And how many years ago was that?" Taby looked at you with a long stale gaze. "The person I'm looking at now is completely different from the one I met that day."
Your lips pressed into a thin line as you looked down at your feet. "The consequences of my actions are still ringing across the earth."
"They are. And they will." Taby reached out and pressed their finger lightly on the bird's white mark, instantly blue flames and ash burst out out the animal's wings and back, enveloping it completely like thick fabric. "There's nothing you can do about it besides build out your image brick by brick once more and let others know who you are now." The bird shook the blaze away from its feathers, body significantly larger than before now closer to the size of an eagle. The creature's wings were decorated in black, dark blue and yellow spots, multiple slim tails of different shades of gray flowing from beneath its feathers.
Taby extended their arm in the air and as if on command the bird launched itself off of their palm and flew away gracefully.
"Changer Blue." You murmured looking at the elegant animal that was slowly fading into the sky.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" The vampire next to you asked. "One touch and they turn into these majestic creatures, there aren't a lot of them these days." Taby stood up before walking up to the place where the morning light and the shadow above you clashed together. "I hope that you can also turn Noah from a meak small bird into a graceful strong creature."
You exhaled heavily through your nose but did not answer back.
"I'm…" Taby looked up at the sky. "To say that I'm getting older would be a massive understatement…"
