Your lips were sealed shut, as you looked into the steel grey eyes of the chief.

He was a strong man, not as tall as you but bulky in his built, the two wolf ears at the top of his head blending in with his long white locks that dripped onto his shoulders and down his sculpted back. His facial features were sharp, perfectly complementing his stiff posture, even the grains of white wolf hair at his cheekbones seemed more rigid and pointed. The man's king like persona fell apart however when it came to the rags he wore, both the t-shirt and pants were clearly too small for him, some of the fabric ripping at the sides. He wore no shoes, the crystal white fur at his feet stained with mud and dust.

"Quaesitor Sanguis." He growled, his voice was gruff and deep.

You dipped down into a bow. "I'm deeply sorry about my sudden intrusion into your lands, Canio the chief of the pack."

It was, to say the least very awkward. Not to mention how much you two differentiated not only in your appearance but also in the general aura. Canio a burling werewolf who despite the sheer power of his being was ragged and clothed like a homeless man. And you, a pale, tall vampire in a dark cape and clothing generally made of soft cotton. Covered in little twinkling details and jewelry like you were the descendant of a royal family.

Canio groaned, his voice coming out more like the growl of an animal. You could clearly see he felt discomfort with the fact that you towered over him and that he actually had to crank his neck back to look you in the eyes. Which was probably why he refused to sit down on top of the throne-like stone behind him. He tried to stand up even straighter, pushing out his muscles to seem bigger.

You already didn't like this.

"The previous chief told me about you." He said in a demanding tone.

You raised your eyebrows "Has the things he told been good?"

Canio shifted a little in his stance. "I suppose yes." He cleared his throat. "But we are not here to have a chit chat, are we? Tell me why are you here?"

'Getting straight to the point huh?' You thought brushing some of your white hair to the side. "There has been a problem within the family of vampires-"

"Why should I care about what you blood creatures struggle with." His eyebrows knitted in annoyance.

You surpassed the urge to snap back. "But it's also an issue that can spiral into further problems for other creatures." Your ruby optics flickered dangerously "Like you guys."

Canio's teeth clenched as another growl rumbled deep within his throat. "Of course that's what it is. So you guys failed to contain your own failures and now you go around looking for others to fix it for you!?"

He strutted up to you, his fingers curling around the hem of your green cloak in a tight grip. "Creatures should have known that if they let things like you roam around you'll cause further trouble." Dark shadows twisted around the skin being pushed by his deep scowl. Vein at his forehead bulging out in anger. To say he was short-tempered would have been an understatement. "Dead humans parading around as creatures, demanding the same respect..."

Your eyebrows knitted. "I do not want to disrespect you wolf. A civil discussion is what I'm here for, let's not turn this into a fight or a display of our more...personal beliefs."

His lips visibly twitched in annoyance but the pressure of your deep ruby optics made him release you from his grip.

"Whatever." He grumbled, moving away from you.

The two of you were in a much more secluded area, with large stones surrounding the bit of land that kept you away from any curious eyes. You wondered if the chief would have acted the same if anyone from the clan was watching. Or was he simply as unhinged in the public as he is in the more private settings.
