It's been a month since my parents came home.

Martinus lives with us.

He's helping me with my homework.

My parents were thinking about telling him to leave but I said I want him to stay.

I didn't tell them about us.

Martinus and I are still a couple.
Well actually we're trying to.

We sometimes sleep together when parents aren't home.
We don't kiss a lot because I'm at school in the morning and parents are usually home in the afternoon.

It's kinda difficult but we got used to it.

I think Martinus still doesn't like the fact that I'm afraid to tell the parents about him.

They're gonna be mad.

I can't do this.

Martinus: What are you thinking about, Y/N?

I sighed.

I continued acting like I was still reading the book.

Martinus: You need to concentrate.

Me: I am concentrated, Martinus.

He didn't talk.

Me: I'm kinda tired. What about continue later?

Suddenly my parents opened the door and they came in.

Me: Um hey.

Mum: We're sorry for interrupting.

Me: It's okay. What's wrong?

Dad: You're turning 18 next month, Y/N.

Me: Okay so what?

Dad: That means that you're getting older.

I was confused.
They were acting so weird.

Martinus was kinda nervous.

Me: I don't understand.

Dad: Today some of the most famous people in the country who run big companies are going to turn up in one of the most important events. You'll come with us.

Me: No I won't. Why should I?

Dad: You need to meet new people. Make new friends, meet boys.

Me: Excuse me?

Dad: You're old enough and we want you to find someone like Cole. Loren's boyfriend.

Me: Okay okay. Dad, I already have many friends and it is not your business what I do in my love life.

Dad: Of course it is. I want you to be happy. And-

Me: No you don't. You just care about money.

Dad: Sweetheart-

Me: Leave me alone right now.

My mum looked at my dad.

Mum: Let me talk to her.

He nodded and he got out of the room.

I was so upset.

But in fact I was afraid.

Afraid of losing him.
