Mikey had taken to visiting you every night. As seven-thirty PM approached, you found yourself packing up your work instinctively. Even though Mikey knew you were not studying him anymore, he still came around.
For the few weeks you’ve known him, you took into account that he was very scatterbrained. You deduced that he probably had ADHD or ADD. despite this, he was always punctual. Never showing up a minute after your agreed time.
Speaking of punctual, three distinct knocks rang through the air in your room. You scrambled to throw open the window that leads to your fire escape. “Hi Mikey!” you greeted, stepping out of the mutant turtle’s way.
Mikey climbed through your window and flopped unceremoniously onto your bed, which gave out a low creak under the mutant turtle’s weight. “Rough day?” you asked cautiously, taking a seat in your desk chair.
“Only a little” you urged Mikey to explain, and he did, ranting for a good twenty minutes about how he hates being the littlest brother, and that his family never understands him. “Now that you're finished, do you want advice or sympathy?”
Mikey laughed, his brilliant smile returning to his freckled face. “I don't think you can help me with this. I'm just glad you listened.” you smiled. “Anytime, I get what it's like to be the younger sibling” you began. “I'm actually the middle child, so my family barely pays attention to me anyway.
Mikey looked at you in concern. “Well if you don't talk to our family, who do you talk to?” he questioned, looking intrigued. “You, mostly. I don't really have any other friends besides you” you admitted.
“Really? Well, that's gotta change! Tomorrow night, we’re going to my place! You're going to love my brother Donnie! He's a total sciencey type!” Mikey rambled further about his older brothers, making you smile.
“Sure ill like your brothers, but will your brothers like me?” you questioned, not wanting to intrude on Mikey's family life. “I'm sure they’ll like you! They’ve liked all my other friends so far!” you contemplated for a moment, before finally agreeing. “Alright, tomorrow night ill come meet your brothers, now are you going to pick me up or should I meet you somewhere?”
“I'll come get you here dude. My place is kinda hard to get to, so…” you nodded, agreeing to the plan. “Well, it's getting late, you should probably be heading home. See you at seven-thirty?”
“Seven-thirty”
