You were packing up to see Mikey, glancing at the clock every once in a while, making sure you weren't going to be late.
5:45
6:00
6:15
Knock knock.
You whipped your head to the direction of the window, where Mikey was standing, a pizza box in his hands.
You dove to the window, undoing the latch and tossing it open.
"Mikey? I thought you were sick!" you shouted, making room for Mikey to climb in.
"I was, Dude, but Donnie gave me some meds after you left last night and now I feel great!"
You smiled at Mikey, glad his excited demeanour was back. A stark comparison from the night before, when he had been sickly and bedridden.
"Oh!" he exclaimed, "I brought a pizza, cuz you had to babysit me last night,"
You broke out in laughter, practically doubling over. "I didn't babysit you! You were sick and I kept you company," you smiled, "besides, if anyone was babysitting anyone, you were definitely babysitting me. Making sure I got my nap in,"
Mikey let out a good laugh as he reached for a slice of pizza.
You ate pizza in relative silence, the tension between you was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
"Mikey-"
"Y/N-"
You both laughed, "you go first," Said Mikey, smiling.
You gulped, there was no right way to say what you were about to say, so, against your better judgement, you blurted out the words.
"I like you!"
There was a heavy pause, then Mikey spoke,
"Yeah, I know dude, we're like, best friends,"
You shook your head, your face growing more and more flushed by the second.
"No, Mikey," you chuckled through the embarrassment, "I like you as... more than a friend"
Mikey's face grew flushed as well, but he nodded. "Actually, I was gonna say the same thing," he confessed, wringing his hands together.
You put your hand on top of his folded ones, smiling.
You both leaned in.
