Dull, dreary, grey. If you could choose three words to describe the weather today, those were it. And sadly for you, you needed natural sunlight to conduct your next experiment. You sighed and gazed out your window as a slight trickle of rain began pattering against the glass.

Your sigh created a patch of condensation on the glass, and a small smile crept onto your face is you began to doodle in the fogged-up patch. You had managed to distract yourself with the doodles on the window when your phone vibrated.

"Wanna come to the Lair?" the text from Mikey read. You smiled and worked away at your keyboard to reply.

"Sure, should I meet you somewhere?"

"Nah, I'm close by. Brt"

You sent a quick smiling emoticon, then waited. It wasn't long before your reptilian friend was knocking on your window.

You threw open the window and greeted Mikey. "Hey! Ready to go?" he asked, a bright smile plastered on his face. You nodded and climbed out onto the fire escape, into the rain. You shivered in the suddenly cold air that surrounds you.

You pushed the now uncomfortable wetness to the back of your mind as you followed Mikey into the alleyway that separated your apartment from the building next to it.

Mikey leads you into the sewers, guiding you through the putrid tunnels towards his home. On the way, you made small talk. Mikey had a tendency to ask you about school, how it was going, how your classmates were, how well you were doing in your classes.

You, of course, happily vented to him about everything that was happening at school, from mundane events to drama that was always happening around you. Mikey soaked up every word, intently listening to your seemingly meaningless rants.

"Hey, guys!" Mikey shouted as you both entered the Lair, "we're home!" you smiled at the small comment. You had only been to the lair a few times since you met Mikey, but the turtles and Splinter had made you feel very at home in this abandoned subway station.

"Hey Mikey!" came a call from another room. You looked towards the sound of the voice. Donnie was walking out of the Lab, holding a cardboard box full of glass containers. "Oh, hey (Y/N)"

You waved. "What's in the box Donnie?" you asked. He sighed in defeat. "Failed batches of Retromutagen'' you shot Donnie a sympathetic look. "Well, don't toss them just yet," you urged, "mind letting me look at them?"

Donnie smiled kindly at you, "sure thing!" he exclaimed. As he leads you into the lab, Mikey followed.

You and Donnie sat at a workbench, Mikey sitting on Donnie's computer chair, wheeling around the lab. You and Donnie discussed the failed samples, pausing every once in a while so you can scribble down notes.

The sound of Mikey wheeling around on the chair was extremely distracting, and after a while, it was all you could focus on. "Mikey?" you asked politely, "that sound is distracting me, can you stop?"

Mikey smiled kindly, "sure thing!"

"Here," you offered, reaching into your pocket and pulling out a stress ball, "this should keep you busy for a bit, just try not to break anything?"

Mikey accepted the stress ball and stopped pushing the chair around. You turned to Donnie to continue and saw he was staring in confusion

"How did you do that? He never listens to me!" he shouted, obviously dumbfounded.

You chuckled slightly. "I have no way of telling for sure," you started, "but I think Mikey might have some form of ADHD. I have it and so does my little brother, I just know how to deal with short attention spans I guess" you explained.

Donnie seemed intrigued. "I'll have to keep that in mind."
