Aya Weathers

"Aya, it's the Grammys, not a high school homecoming dance." Karilyn scolded me as I picked up a dress that she didn't find to be appealing for such a mainstream event. I really don't know what to wear to something as important as this, I don't even like dresses.

"Karilyn, how am I supposed to know? It's hard trying to find something that matches Chris's dress, fits me well, and doesn't make me want to throw up. On top of that, you're not being much of a help." I threw a fit as I took a seat on a bench.

"It's not that fucking hard. Just call Chris and ask him." She rolled her eyes and continued to rummage through the rack of clothing.

"I don't want him to see my dress. It ruins the element of surprise," Just as I said that, I received an incoming FaceTime from the devil himself. "Speaking of, look who's calling." I pressed the green answer button and waited until his face appeared on my screen.

"Hey, boo."

"Hey, beautiful. What you up to?" It's fake, Aya. He doesn't mean it.

"Still shopping with KK. She's not being much of a help." I informed him. Karilyn turned around and glared at me, sticking her tongue out.

"Let me see what you got, if you even picked out anything." He propped the phone up against something. It looked as if he were in the studio. The wooden backdrop and glass window gave it away.

"I don't want you to see my dress. Not until tomorrow night." I told him the same thing I told Karilyn. He kissed his teeth and tilted his head, cutting his eyes at me.

"Quit playing, shorty. Let me see you in the dress. That way I can picture what it'll look like ripping it off of you." My eyes widened and Karilyn whipped her head around, mouth ajar but curved into a beaming smile.

"Uh, no," I chuckled nervously and mouthed 'Shut up' to Karilyn. "You in the studio?" I rubbed my lip gloss in with my lips and smacked them, realizing I needed more.

"Yeah. Working on some heat." He chuckled and stretched his back out, leaning his head towards the ceiling.

"Let me hear."

"Not until you model that dress for me." He refused, giving me an ultimatum.

"Chris." I lowered my face and cut my eyes at him.

"Aya." He mocked with a toothy smirk on his face.

"You're forgetting we work together. I'm going to have to hear the songs eventually." I looked up at Karilyn, who held up a dress that fit my description perfectly. I smiled and gave her a thumbs up, causing her to cheer silently.

"You're forgetting we're going to the Grammys together. I'm going to have to see you in that dress eventually." He continued to taunt me, flipping my words around.

"I don't even wanna see it anymore. I'm about to go try this dress on, bye Chris." I prepared to hang up until he shouted 'Wait!'.

"You coming over when you're done?" He asked me and picked up his phone.

"I'm going to get my nails done and get a pair of heels. I can come after if you want me to." I told him as I went into the dressing room.

"I'm about to head out, so come whenever. I'll leave the door unlocked. Don't be gone too long." I closed and locked the stall, hanging the dress up.

"Alright, I'm in the dressing room, I'll see you in a little bit." I prepared to press the red end call button.

"Ight, shorty." I hung up the phone on that cue.
