ABOUT: Parts of the song were originally written by Jin, many years before Maeum had truly understood what it was she felt for her boyfriend. At the time, Jin had felt a longing but for the sake of their friendship kept it within himself and used writing as an outlet. Parts of the song are representations of what he felt all those years ago. The other part represent Maeum and the many emotions she had felt for a course of years and how combined with Jin's, describes the course of their friendship to relationship.
2013 — Jin For Jin, the parts written were about his longing, his admiration and the uniqueness he felt for Maeum. His friend but what he hoped one day would be something more. In detail he spoke about what made Maeum Maeum and it was all those parts that he loved and cherished because without every part of her then it wouldn't be her. He speaks of her favorite flowers (dandelions) and how he wishes to go to a field of dandelions as friends, wishing on one for the progression of the relationship; and hopes that when his wish came true to come back to that field together.
The ending is a somber one, it was not made in the cut but speaks that he'd love her regardless if she wasn't with him. He wishes that they would be together and would more than happy but, he's okay if she doesn't reciprocate those feelings. All he wants is for her to be happy and shall she find happiness with someone else then, he wish her the best.
2013 — Maeum Maeum on the other hand, speaks about how she too longs for Jin. She does not wish but knows that when she looks into his eyes, looks at the smile on his lips and hears his unique laugh, she knows that she sees a future with him. Maybe not in this lifetime or universe but she feels deep in her heart that her future will be with him.
Originally, she wrote about her insecurities and how all the possibilities of them being together are slim to none and all the obstacles are grand which makes her scared of wanting a relationship with him but despite it, she can't help but continue to imagine them together.
