Chapter 27

-Katniss' POV-

I wake up the next morning. I expected to wake up and see Peeta but he's no where in sight. I sigh and get out of bed and head to my bathroom and have a shower. I then brush my teeth then walk out of the bathroom and back to my room where I use a hair dryer to dry my hair then straighten it. I apply my make up then get dressed. I grab my bag and put my shoes on and head downstairs. I make some toast and eat it while I walk to school.

I walk in and Lauren and Rosie run over to me.

"Oh my god that boy you were with yesterday was so hot!"

I giggle a little. "You could say that"

"Just because you've already dated him"

"Yeah and he took me home to make sure I was okay getting home after going to the bakery"

"What, you made him go home in the dark after he went all the way to your house to make sure you got home okay?!"

"Pfft no" I scoff. "He stayed with me" I shrug.

"In your bedroom?"

"Yeah? What's the problem with that?"

"Did you, you kn-"

"No!" I snap. "We just slept, that's it"

"Uh oh, boy alert" they warn.

"Hey, will you go out with me?" A boy asks.

"No, I have a fucking boyfriend now fuck off"

He walks off. "You have a boyfriend?" they ask.

"No, I was just saying that so no one would come near me" I shrug.

Throughout the day boys keep coming over and asking me out. What is this, hound the new girl?!

Do they not get the hint that I don't want to date them?

I walk out of school and decide to go to the park. I walk in and see the two families that helped me not long ago. They recognize me and wave me over. I walk over while they smile at me.

"Hey" I say smiling as I aproach them.

"Hello, how have you been?"

"Fine thanks" I nod. "You?"

"Very good, thank you"

"I'm glad to hear" I smile.

One of the little girls come over to me. "Hewo!" she says happily as she looks up at me as she holds her arms out for me to pick her up. I reach down and pick her up ad I sit her on my hip.

"What's your name then?" I ask her as she rests her head on my shoulder.

"Wiwwy" she answers.

"That's a very pretty name Lilly, for a very pretty girl"

She giggles. "Fank Wou"

"Katniss!" I hear from behind me. I turn around to find Peeta jogging over.

"Oh hey" I say as he reaches me.

"I thought I saw you over here" he chuckles.

"Hos dat?" Lilly asks pointing a Peeta.

"That's Peeta, he's my friend"

"Hewo Peetwa" she waves.

"Hello, you very pretty" he says.

She giggles as she hides her face in my shoulder.

"Lilly are you shy?" I ask.

She nods, her face still hidden in my shoulder.
