Thor sighed for the hundredth time as him and his fleet of guards and some of Asgard's strongest soldiers made their way across the dense woods of yet another unfamiliar planet. After yet another battle won, Thor Odinson and his men were making their way back home, to Asgard.

He had been notified that the population of a certain planet were in danger, and the God of Thunder had to come and rescue them.

He and his men were battle-worn, yet they pushed through the woods. Thor could not call Heimdall, he couldn't reach him given the forest was said to be enchanted and too dense; so dense that not even Heimdall could access it. So their only options was to find their way out of it and then summon the bifrost.

Thor's horse marched on slowly, carefully avoiding the twisted roots and prickly plants which adorned the path.

The woods were dark, and foggy. The air was damp and cold. It could be broad daylight, or it could be night time; either way, due to the density of the trees – one couldn't tell.

Out of nowhere, in between the trees, and the fog, Thor saw the glimpse of a red cloth. One which matched his own majestic cape. At first, he thought it might be his tired mind messing with him.

But then he saw it again. And again. The wearer of the dark red cloth must not wish to be seen, Thor could tell that they were doing their best to hide behind the trees.

Thor immediately stopped his horse and secured Mjolnir in his firm grip and waited, his senses alert and he was ready to strike at any given moment.

His soldiers stopped behind him, and the occasional clanking of metal armor and weapons stopped.

Thor believed it might've been someone following them, hoping to catch him off guard.

"Show yourself, coward!" he bellowed, getting off his horse and approaching the giant, moss covered trees, behind which he believed was hidden a weak opponent.

Thor waited, eyes already glowing with the intensity of lightning.

You stayed quiet upon hearing his voice. Perhaps if it weren't for your vibrant red gown, and its flowy train, the man wouldn't have noticed you.

But he did. And you were very scared of what he might do. Was he someone from your village, sent to hunt you down?

Your breath came out shakily, and your heartbeat rang in your ears.

You had every reason to be afraid.

You were Y/N Y/L/N. And you possessed a 'gift' which caused nothing but destruction wherever you went. The 'gift' was a curse really, cast upon you by a wizard who had feud with your family. You had the power of being able to master and generate fiery, obsidian colored flames.

They were to be hotter than the Sun, and more destructible than Surtr himself. Once you were cursed, your health started deteriorating. Your body temperature shot up, and one night; you couldn't handle the pain and let go.

Thinking your time was up, you curled into a ball on your bed, and felt an unfamiliar warmth wash over you. It was surprisingly soothing, and it eased your pain.
