My hands are sweaty as Roan clenches his small palm around mine, his face filled with awe and shock as his eyes stay trained on the window showing the stars and space around us. The rocket we had once arrived in is slowly leading us to the place that will help us reach the ground, a fitting end to our journey I suppose,

"Boys and girls, meet Eligius IV," My eyes go to the screen in the front of the rocket, revealing the large lettering on the hulk of the ship,

"Powering a better tomorrow," Emori reads, and I crease my eyebrows,

"Must be a mining ship," Raven concludes, and I crease my eyebrows together in confusion,

"Mining in space?" I ask, and Monty nods his head,

"I've heard stories. Missions sent to mine asteroids or search for habitable planets, but that was a hundred years ago," Before the world became irradiated, when times were much simpler than this,

"They got back somehow. Means they must have fuel," Bellamy points out, and I nod my head as we get closer to the ship,

"Well, now there's a ship with a story to tell," Raven breathes, causing everyone to look ahead at the massive amount of damage to the ship,

"It looks like one of the engines was destroyed," Raven notices, and I can't help but think about what or who could have caused that much damaged,

"At least the hap is rotating," Emori announces, and Raven nods her head in agreement,

"That rotation means they'll have gravity. Sorry lovebirds, no zero-g space se-" I cough loudly before she could get the chance to finish that sentence, sending a look at Raven. Her eyes light up with understanding, and she laughs, sending a quick glance to the small boy beside me.

Raven has already taught him every curse word in the book, but luckily, he's smart enough not to use those words when I'm around.

Bellamy looks over at me before he slowly takes my other hand in his, a small smile on his face. I begin to imagine what the zero-g experience would be like, but I quickly shake the image from my head. Later. You can do this when you're not hurtling through space.

"There. There's the docking bay," Emori announces, and I watch as Raven begins to flip a few switches,

"I hate to ask this now, but what if they're still inside?" Monty asks, raising the amount of concern that's already in my stomach as we get closer to the docking bay,

"We've been through this; if they were still inside and saw a foreign ship trying to board them, they would shoot us out of the sky," Echo reminds him, and I shrug,

"That's assuming they have guns," I mutter, earning me a hard squeeze by Bellamy,

"Ok. Commencing operation uninvited guests. Firing thrusters in 3,2,1," She flicks a switch, and we all jolt forward as the thrusters engage, sending us flying through space. Roan's hand tightens around mine, and I send him a reassuring smile as I press myself against the back of my seat,

"Emori, as soon as I line us up with the hap, it's all yours. On my mark," I can feel the ship spinning, making my stomach rise up into my throat,

"Ok, we're in alignment, the Nav is yours," Raven says, and my eyes go towards the hesitating Emori, "It's just like the simulator," she reminds Emori, who only nods her head,

"Copy that," Emori responds, her eyes glued to the switches and screen in front of her,

"Grounders don't say 'copy that,"' Murphy remarks, and Emori only smiles,
