Chapter 15

"Jo," I hear a voice the next morning.

"When are you gonna learn to let me sleep?" I groan.

He kisses my cheek.

"We gotta start heading home," Ricky whispers.

"No!" I whine.

"Yes," he argues.

"Can we please stay?" I put on a sad face.

"Stop that cutie! You know we can't stay. We have fall break in a few weeks, and I promise we will come back," he smiles.

"Pinky promise?" I ask, holding up my pinky.

He locks our pinkies and kisses my forehead.

"It's already noon. Get your stuff packed," he says, starting to pack stuff of his own.

I pack my stuff and Ezra walks in our room with his suitcase.

"I can't believe we have to go already," I frown.

"It's all Ricky's fault," Ezra laughs.

Ezra may be older than Ricky, but he's a lot more childish.

"Let's go you two kids," Ricky smirks.

I grab my suitcase and we checkout in the lobby. We load our stuff in his car and Ricky looks at Ezra.

"You wanna drive?" Ricky asks.

"Sure," Ezra smiles.

Ricky hands him the keys and Ricky and I sit in the back of the car.

I cuddle close to him and we head back to Destin.

We pull up to my house and I see all my friends on the porch. Even the boys.

"Shit!" I say.

"If they ask, just say I'm your uncle. Ricky, hide," Ezra says.

I give Ricky a quick kiss and he lays down to hide.

I grab my suitcase and walk to my friends.

"Why did Mr. Montgomery just drop you off?" Chase asks.

"He's my uncle. On my mom's side," I say.

"so you and him went to visit your family together?" Luke asks.

"Yes," I smile.

"Let's go roller skating!" Paige interrupts.

"Let me put my stuff inside," I say, unlocking my door and putting my suitcase in my room.

"So, what's the 411?" Paige asks, coming in my room.

"We're official," I smile.

"He asked you to be his?" Paige asks.

"Yes, and I'm ready to take the risk for him, and he is ready to do the same," I grin.

"How romantic!" Ali squeals, coming inside.

"Thanks! Now let's go," I giggle.

we head out and I grab my car keys.

"Girls in my car!" I call.

The girls pile in my car and the boys get in Luke's.

Ali sits up front with me and Paige sits in the back.

"Singing radiohead at the top of our lungs!" Ali screams as Avril Lavigne comes on the radio.

"With the boom box blaring as we're falling in love!" I join in.

We sing different songs the whole way there.

I follow Luke to the skating rink and we get out.

We go inside and I rent a pair of roller skates for myself.

I skate around the rink a few times.

Ali skates over to me and Paige trails behind.

I grab Ali and Paige's hands and we skate around.

I feel a push on my back and I squeal.

"Luke!" I laugh, turning around.

"Whoops," he winks, linking arms with Ali.

I wink at Ali and we continue skating.

Chase links arms with Paige and I grin.

I can't wait until I can go out publicly with Ricky.

We skate for an hour or so before calling it quits.

I take my skates off and go outside to my car. My phone rings and I get in my car and shut the door.

"Hey Ricky," I smile.

"Come back to my place soon," he says.

"I'll be there after coffee," I giggle, hanging up.

The girls get in my car and we drive back to my house so everyone can get their cars.

"Coffee time!" Chase yells.

I giggle as I drive to the Cafe with everyone trailing me.

I get out and we sit at a table in the back. I order a mocha latte.

"I don't want to go to school tomorrow," I groan.

"Neither do I," Chase laughs.

"I have a freakin science and history test tomorrow," I groan.

"I heard that for gym we have to run a mile next week," Ali groans.

"Hell no," Paige groans.

I giggle and sip my coffee.

One by one everyone starts to leave.

First Ali, then Chase, and then Paige.

"I guess it's just you and me," Luke laughs.

I grin.
"Wanna go to the arcade next door?" Luke asks.

"Yeah," I grin.

We head outside in the pouring rain. I squeal and run next door.

We head inside and Luke gets coins for his cash.

We play pacman, DDR, and a few racing games.

"I gotta head home," I say.

Luke hugs me and I head outside to my car.

I drive to Ricky's and head inside.

"Took you long enough," he laughs.

"Sorry," I giggle.

"Jo?" he looks at me.

"yes?" I smile.

"I love you," he says.

I freeze, but then look at him. Am I hearing things? He just said he loved me!

"I love you too," I smile.

I kiss him softly and we head upstairs. We lay down and he wraps his arms around me. He rubs my back as I slowly fall asleep.
