The next day I decide to stay out of school. I grab some money from the safe and head to the grocery store.
I buy the essentials, plus some junk food.
I load the groceries in my car and head home. I unload them and my phone rings.
"Hey Luke," I smile.
"Where are you?" he asks.
"Home. I'm not feeling the best," I say.
"I'll be there shortly," he says.
Luke doesn't lie. He got there within 15 minutes.
"Hi," I half smile.
He hugs me.
"I'd like to punch the scumbag that did this to you," he says.
"Can you keep a secret?" I ask.
"Anything," he smiles.
"You're like my big brother. I can trust you," I say taking a deep breath.
He looks at me.
"They guy who cheated on me isn't from my hometown, and he didn't cheat on me. Things got mixed up, and I walked in on him. The girl threw herself on him, and he didn't have time react before I ran off. I walked in on him because that guy is Coach Johnson," I say.
"You dated a teacher?" Luke asks, shocked.
"I really did love him. I just don't know what I should do," I say.
"Give it time," Luke smiles.
"Please don't tell," I say.
"I would never tell on you," he smiles.
I hug him.
"Let's head to school. We can make it before lunch ends," he says.
We get in and I head to school. I check in with Luke and we sit outside.
"Are you gonna be okay?" he asks.
"I think so. I have to do something before lunch ends. Thanks for everything," I hug him and head to Ezra's room.
I walk in to see him talking to Ricky.
They both look at me.
"Is this a bad time?" I ask Ezra.
"No it's fine," he smiles.
"I'm here to find out what I missed this morning," I say.
"We read Act 4 of Romeo and Juliet," he says.
"Thanks," I smile.
I get the work from the rest of the classes I missed and walk by Ezra's room. The door is open so I listen to his and Ricky's conversation.
"I love Jo, and I never cheated on her. I just want her back," Ricky states.
"I believe you. I confronted Julie about it and she told me everything," Ezra says.
So he really didn't cheat.
I stare at Ricky.
"I love you too," I walk inside the room.
His face lights up as I run to him. He picks me up and spins me around.
"Put me down. We're in school," I giggle.
"I missed you," he smiles.
"I missed you too. I'm sorry I didn't give you the chance to explain. I was just really pissed off," I say.
"Understandable," he winks.
"Now I can finally stop taking sides," Ezra jokes.
I hug him.
"Thank you for standing by me," I smile.
"Anything for you Jo," he grins.
The bell rings.
"See you both later," I smile.
"I love you Jo."
"I love you too, Ricky."
