Chapter 38; Rumors

I run to my brother and he picks me up. I wrap my legs around him and engulf him in hug. I cry even harder, but for a different reason.

"Hey sweetheart," he smiles.

"Hey soldier," I giggle.

Those are our nicknames for each other.

I see Ricky and Ezra staring at us, Ricky looking a little jealous.

"And who is this?" Ezra asks.

"My true best friend, and he's been in Iraq for 6 months," I say.

"Jordan would you like to check out to spend time with him?" the principal asks, stepping inside.

Jesse puts me down.

"yes please!" I grin.

I lock elbows with my brother and we head out.

"Mom told me everything," he says.

"How much is everything?" I ask.

"I know you're having your teachers kids," he chuckles.

I giggle.

"I can't believe you smashed his car! That is so awesome," Jesse smirks.

I take a bow.

"Why thank you," I joke as we get inside his car.

We laugh.

"So which one of those teachers is the baby daddy? They were both shooting me daggers so I know it's one of them."

"The shorter one," I grin.

"I thought so. He looked like more of your type," Jesse winks.

"I missed you so much," I say.

"I missed you too," he smiles.

"I'm glad you're here. I really need somebody right now," I say.

"I know, and that's why I'm here. I left the army, and I'm here to stay," he grins.

"No way!" I grin.

He drives out of the school parking lot.

"So where should we go sweetheart?" he asks.

"I'm hungry," I giggle.

"Where to?" he asks.

"Cheesecake factory!" I grin.

We drive there and I get an oreo cheesecake, and Jesse gets regular cheesecake.

"I can't believe I'm going to be an uncle, of two babies!" Jesse smiles.

"I know. I thought you'd be the one to have kids first," I giggle.

"So what's the plan now?" he asks.

"I'm still not sure. I have a job, and I have to work today. I was thinking about getting home schooled. It would make things a lot easier," I admit.

"So you're just gonna give up and not make up with your friends?" he asks.

"They hate me," I say.

"Call them tonight, and try to work things out," Jesse smiles.

"Mom took me phone," I groan.

"I'll get it back for you," Jesse smirks.

"Where are you gonna sleep tonight? I already turned the extra room into a nursery," I say.

"I'll figure out something," he smiles.

 

"I'm exhausted," I groan and I step inside the house.

Work was super busy.

"Here's your phone," Jesse grins, handing it to me.

"You're the best," I grin.

I run upstairs and dial Ali's number.

"How could you Jo?" she answers.

"How could I what?" I ask.

"Have a new boyfriend! Ricky told us about that guy in Ezra's class," she says.

"That was my brother! How about you guys quit talking shit about me and confront me if you need anything!" I hang up.

I lay down in bed and tears fall down my face.

I feel arms wrap around me, and I look to see Jesse. I bury my face in his chest and cry myself to sleep.
