Chapter 22

Friday before fall break comes fast. The sleepover last week was super fun. Everyone got along with Ricky and Ezra really well.

"We're gonna have the funnest break ever," I say to the crew as we're sitting outside of school.

"Hell yeah," Chase winks.

"I have news," Ali smiles.

"Spill," Paige says.

"Luke and I are official," she grins.

"No way?! Congrats!" I hug her.

Luke wraps his arms around her waist and kisses her cheek.

"Aww," Paige smiles.

The bell rings and I head to English.

"Since we finished Romeo and Juliet yesterday, we're just going to have a lazy day," Ezra tells the class.

The class erupts into cheers.

"Just have a fun break, and please be safe," Ezra smiles.

I roll my eyes at him.

Last period rolls around fast.

"You can either sit in here or go outside," Ricky tells everyone.

I sit inside with Ali and Paige.

"Chase and I have a date tonight," Paige smiles.

"Where to?" I ask.

"The movies. I think we're going to make it official soon, hopefully," she smiles.

"Good for you. Luke is so sweet," Ali gushes.

"So is Ricky," I whisper.

"So how much are you charging for your lap dances over the break? Is there a discount?" kendall asks me.

"Enough Kendall," Ricky says.

"You're such a damn freak. Get a life and stop trying to ruin mine," I retort.

She huffs and walks off.

Paige, Ali, and I giggle.

"The Fall Ball is tomorrow night. Did you guys get asked?" I ask Paige and Ali.

"We're going dress shopping after school. we would've invited you, but you said you weren't going," Paige smiles.

"That's okay," I giggle.

"So what are you and your boyfriend doing tomorrow night?" Ali asks.

"I'm not sure yet. Ezra will probably be there," I giggle.

The bell rings and everyone files out.

"Break time!" I yell once everyone is gone.

"I'll see you at home babygirl," Ricky grins.

I drive home and crash on the couch.

I'm awaken with kisses being planted on my cheek.

"Hey," I open my eyes and smile at Ricky.

"Sleep good?" he asks.

I nod. He leans down and lays beside me. He hugs me tightly.

"I'm so lucky you're mine," I grin.

"Same here," he giggles.

I kiss him softly.

"Ezra said he is coming over," Ricky chuckles.

"Fine," I wink.

He kisses me again and I moan. I hear a knock on the door and I groan.

I get up and look through the peephole, and I see a cop standing at my door.

"It's a cop," I whisper.

Ricky's eyes widen.

He grabs his stuff and quietly walks out the back door. I see him run through the woods and no one notices.

I open the door.

"Are you Jordan Manders?" the cop asks.

"Yes I am," I say.

"we've been informed that you're having a sexual relationship with your teacher, Ricky Johnson," he informs.

"Did kendall, Maddie, or Samantha tell you this?" I sigh.

"We can't give out that information," he says.

I nod.

"Care if we look around?" he asks.

"Not at all," I fake smile.

He looks all through the house.

"It seems the accusations against you are false. I'm sorry someone accused you," he says.

"It's okay," I put on a fake smile as he walks out the door.

He gets in his cop car and drives off.

I text Ricky and tell him it's safe.

He comes back inside shortly after.

"Jo, I think we may need a break," he says.

"Why?" my heart shatters.

"We just almost got busted. We might need to wait till after graduation," he tells me.

"Are you serious?" I tear up.

"I love you Jo. Don't forget it. After graduation, it will be us against the world," he kisses my cheek.

"Don't touch me! I thought you were willing to risk it! I am," I fume.

He turns around and walks out the door.
