Chapter 16

"Wake up!" I feel someone shaking me.

I groan and sit up.

"I dislike you," I mumble.

"I thought you loved me?" he smirks.

"Sometimes," I wink.

He picks me up and carries me to the living room.

"Do we have to go to school?" I groan.

"Two weeks until fall break," he smirks.

I grab some clothes I left here last time and change.

"See you in class," I give him a kiss as I head out the door.

I stop for a chicken biscuit on the way to school.

I get 4 more for the crew.

I park at school and find them all sitting on the bench outside.

"Breakfast is here!" I call, handing Chase the bag.

"You're a lifesaver!" Paige hugs me.

I grin and I head to class.

"Good Morning Mr. Montgomery," I wink.

"Morning Jo," he smiles.

I'm the first one there, so I just stand at his desk.

"Ricky told me he loved me last night," I grin.

"That's great. I have a date tomorrow," he smiles.

"With?"

"Julie. Well, you know he as Mrs. Edwards," he grins.

The art teacher.

"She's pretty," I smile.

"And nice," he laughs.

I take my seat and other kids pile in the classroom.

The day goes by fast. I take my history and science test and I actually feel great about it.

I walk into gym and take my seat.

Ricky makes us run 2 laps around the track and then we just walk.

The bell rings and I stay behind.

"Head home. I have a lot of papers to grade," he groans.

I nod and smile at him. I head to my car and put my stuff down.

I walk back to Ricky's office, wanting to stay with him. I walk inside his room to see Mrs. Edwards, sitting on Ricky's lap, kissing him.

I quickly run out. I bang my fist on my car. How could he? He just said he loved me.

Tears stream down my face as I drive home.

I go inside and lock all my doors. I lay down on the couch and cry my eyes out.
