Dipper POV

Bill had come into the shack during work hours to find me behind the counter. But he always acted odd when either of my Grunkles walked in or Mabel and her friends would come in. He always hid from them, it wasn't as if they were looking for him like a game of Hide&Seek. But he would always duck out or hide behind a stack of merch and shush me if any of them came up to talk to me while he was hiding. After they would leave he never really answered me when I would ask him why he hid from them.

It had been a few days and like clock work he would show up outside my window with rock around 9 and then the next morning he would show up in the shop only an hour after I opened, right after Grunkle Stans tours would start and Grunkle Ford would escape to the basement.

It had been nice to have him around, I found myself incredibly bored after he'd leave. Even my little projects would just barely chase away my boredom. The only thing that got close to being like talking to Bill was reading his journal.

Ford still wasn't letting me out of the of the shack, when all this started I could have sworn that it would only last a week or two till the "danger" had passed but I was royally wrong.

At 8:46 I found myself sitting in my window, Mabel was staying at Grenda's with Candy for the night so I had the room to myself. At least in 14 minutes I wouldn't be so alone.

8:52

Nothing.

9:02

A bush moved but other than that no sign of Bill Cipher.

9:05

By now he would have been here, but now he's late. I didn't even know what he was late for, he didn't have to come every time.

9:15

I started to feel stupid and silly for even waiting in the window.

9:25

The bushes moved again, this time it wasn't a bird or rat, instead it was a person half hunched dragging something with them to the shack. As they got closer I could see who it was and what it was they were dragging.

When they got closer I could see who it was and that it wasn't a dead person being dragged as I feared. But instead it was simple Bill dragging along with him a Latter.

I opened the window to the harsh cold breeze when he dropped the latter and waved up at me.

"Hello Damsel!" he called cheerfully, "I hope you didn't think I wouldn't show. I know I'm late."

I laughed lightly at him, "Only worried for a little, but I feel better now that your actually here."

"Awww Pinetree that warms my heart." he pouted putting his hand over his heart.

I rolled my eyes, "So what has my knight brought this evening." I asked resting my head on my hand.

"Well sense a certain damsel does not have long hair and isn't really in a tower and more of a two story building. I thought a latter would be appropriate." he said as he lifted the latter walking it forwards till it leaned on the building, the top reaching about a foot below the window.

But before I could even turn for my shoes I saw him start to climb the latter.

"What are you doing?" I asked backing away from the window when he reached for the edge.

"Coming inside, it's cold out here." he answered brushing off his pants before looking around the room. "Who's the other bed for?"

"My Sister- why couldn't I come down to you? I asked still longingly looking out the window. "Like I said it's cold. And... I know if you were to leave this room tonight you would either not come back or have a very hard time coming back." he said running a hand over my desk and all the unfinished project that littered it.
