HJ Entertainment is a South Korean entertainment company established in 1996 by Park Hee Yeol .The company operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company, and music publishing house. In addition, the company operates a number of subsidiary ventures under a separate public traded company, HJPLUS, which includes a clothing line, a golf management agency, and a cosmetics brand.
Following Lee Seunggi's success, HJ Entertainment formed its first idol group "Brown eyed girls" in 2006. Despite an initial lukewarm reception, the group's breakthrough the following year and their consistent popularity have made them one of the biggest and most bankable girl bands in the industry. This was followed by HJ's first successful female solo idol in 2009 "Muse" which made history for the company.
In 2011, HJ Entertainment made a highly publicized move into a new building, while the old headquarters became a training facility for the new trainees.
2014–present: Recent developments
HJ Entertainment debuted their first male solo singer "Crush" in 2014, and their second female solo "Jimin" in 2015, Monsta X in 2015, Wanna one in 2017 and their latest girl group ITZY in 2019.
HJ entertainment's idols are highly praised for their talents and visuals also the company is considered one of the big fours alongside SM entertainment, JYP entertainment and Big Hit entertainment.
