Yuna's POV

"Dahyun ah, how are you?"

"I'm good... It's been a while hasn't it?"

"A very long time, since I left"

"How are you doing over there?"

"Normal army stuff, really. Getting up early in the mornings and having to work out and train all day. Nothing interesting. How is the idol life for you? A lot of the guys here are Once's"

"We still have promotions going on for our new album. And tell the guys I said hi"

"I will"

"Yuna..."

"Yes, Dahyun?"

"When are you coming back?"

I sighed.

"I don't know... There are a few more attacks here and there it's hard for them to do it without any people here. They need my help"

"But you promise to come back safely?"

"I will. Just wait for me. I still have to take you out on a date. Okay?"

"Don't remind me about that. It makes me miss you more"

"Dahyun be strong. I'll be back soon. Just wait for me. I have to go, captain is calling me. I love you"

The past three months have been difficult. Exactly three months ago, the National Service team contacted me and told me they needed help in their area and they needed help with the preperation for the next upcoming attacks. They had lack of skilled people, therefore contacting me. At first I was hesitant because exactly on that day they called me, I had started dating Dahyun.

Dahyun confessed to me first and said she likes me. I was too scared to confess but in the end I did, and we began dating. I had a serious conversation with Dahyun about it and she got a little sad I wasn't going to be with her the moment we got together. But other than that, she was supportive and said that the few months will go by really quick since she will be busy with schedules anyway. But lately, she has been having withdrawal symptoms and has been calling me alot. I can't blame her cause I was feeling it a little as well. We could only communicate when we were both free and through call. Which was really rare.

"Sargeant Yuna, are you alright?"

"Yes, sir. Sorry"

"Thinking about home?"

I nodded.

"Not to worry. I've been feeling the same... I've been out here with the team for the past 2 years now. And we've never had a successful win, without losing hundreds 9f soldiers"

"Sorry to hear that sir. But mind if I ask you why bring in lady soldiers despite the body counts over the years?"

"I never suggested it. But I was open to any idea that could help us. People underestimate women alot in this country and they should be given a chance. So I had nothing against it and allowed"

"I see. That's why you called me?"

"Exactly"

"But when do you think that this will all be over?"

"I seriously don't know, Yuna. I wish I knew. But all we can do is fight through and hope it will all be over soon"

"Yeah"

Now that was the last thing I remember saying to the Captain before the battles began. Day after day, fight after fight, bodies flying everywhere and the sounds of gunshots filled your ears the entire time. Before I knew it, it was all over. We had won. I had only escaped with a scarred leg and a broken hand. But it was finally all over. Best part about it was, we didn't lose that many men compared to the previous years.
