Day 35

"You're telling me you haven't ever thought of becoming more than that?"

"You know, if it wasn't for him i'd be back in Dan's arms, probably laying with him while he texts Ian that he's coming home late."

Louis rolls his eyes at his own sentence but then chuckles a bit out of relief. He thinks back to Harry...

"But i'm not. Thanks to Harry. He distracts me, and he keeps me happy, you know?"

Liam lets out an amused hum, lips curving into a smirk. Louis notices and shoves his shoulder.

"What?"

"Oh nothing. Just lately, seems to be a lot of Harry on your mind."

"So?"

"Just kind of gay if you ask me."

"Well I am, and so are you. Now is not the time to get homophobic."

"I just mean, you sound like you've got a crush on the lad."

"Woah, Liam. He's just a mate, and nothing more."

"Dunno. That's not what Harry's been telling me."

Louis' ears perk up this and he actually snaps his head to face Liam completely.

"What has he been saying?"

"Haha! I knew it! I was lying but I know you better Louis. You like that kid!"

"Yeah I like him! He's my friend."

"You're telling me you haven't ever thought of becoming more than that?"

"How would we become more than what we are now? We've never even met face-to-face."

"Dude, you're the only one holding you back. I know you like him, and he always gripes about you not wanting to meet him. He's a good kid, innocent as hell but he's got a good fucking heart. I love you, but I think you two are trying to skip the obvious."

"Oh yeah? What's so obvious?"

"You like each other."

Louis' face turns red and he protest just as his phone rings.

Louis holds up a finger to Liam who just smiles and shakes his head.

"Hey, h."

"Hi, love. Don't mean to bother you but, are you out at the downtown mall?"

"Hm? Yeah, why?"

There's another person talking and they let out a laugh and Harry just giggles.

"Oh, yeah. Don't freak out but um... well.. i-"

"Love, I can take it."

"Okay, well, i'm looking around, right?"

"Yeah?"

"And I'm on the second floor."

"...Yeah."

"And as i'm just gazing around I happen to look below me..."

"Harry just get on with it!"

"Okay okay. I can totally see you."

Louis freezes.

"What?"

"Yeah- um. Didn't think you'd want us to meet accidentally so I wanted to call you and make sure it was you so that I can be sure not to bump into you."

Louis looks at Liam with pleading eyes and Liam being the friend he is sets a hand on Louis' arm and asks what's wrong.

"Harry's here. He can see me." He whispers.

Liam beams.

"Perfect! Tell him to meet us somewhere!"

Louis shakes his head quickly and clears his throat.

"Thanks for the heads up Harry. I was just about to leave! Maybe another time we can see each other."

"Oh.."

Harry's voice completely deflates. He let's out a soft sigh and turns around to start walking the opposite way of Louis.

"I'll talk to you later."

"Good. Bye."
