Dixie POV

Today's the last day of school and I couldn't be more excited. Tomorrow I'll be on the beach with my lifeguarding friends and helping people. I first started lifeguarding when I was 16 but I had an accident but I still went back the next year and I'm still going this year. I'm not going to let some silly accident stop me from helping people.

I shut my locker and turn around to see my best friend Aubrey standing behind me. As much as I love her I know that we are drifting apart from one another.
"Dixie I thought I'd never find you!" She says giggling and I smile at her.
"Hi Aubrey, what's up?" She comes closer to me.
"Guess who I have a crush on?" I roll my eyes and shake my head.

"Who?" I say smiling. She turns her head to the left and I follow her eyes were I see one of the football douches standing there, I think his name is Daniel or something. I look back at her and frown.
"Aubrey no" she looks back at me and copy's my frown.
"Why not?" I shake my head.
"Aubrey he is one of the football assholes that uses ever girl he sees" she rolls her eyes at me.

"You're just saying that cause you're into girls" I raise one eyebrow.
"I'm not just saying that cause Im into girls. It's the truth and I don't want to see your heart get broken this summer holiday" she crosses her arms and looks me up and down trying to show me that she was angry but she just looked like a angry dwarf.

"Are you going back there?" She says and I smile at her.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world" she rolls her eyes.
"What?"
"Why do you always go to turtles bay every holiday?" I huff and shake my head.
"Because my jobs there and it's a beautiful escape" she uncrosses her arms and looks at me.

"But why though?" I shift on my feet.
"It's my holiday Aubrey, you always go on holiday too" she looks away.
"Yeah but this time I'm not" I sigh.
"I'm sorry Aubrey but-"
"You have to yeah I know, whatever I'll just hang out with Madelyn" I clench my jaw. Madelyn is no good, she's always getting drunk and doing drugs. I don't really want her around Aubrey.

Aubrey falls into peer pressure quickly in order to fit in. This always leads to trouble and I'm always the one that has to get her out of it.
"Aubrey please be careful around Madelyn or maybe just not hang out with her" Aubrey looks back at me and crosses her arms.
"Don't tell me who to hang out with"she says immediately getting defensive.

"Aubrey I just care about you and don't want you getting hurt"
"You don't have to worry about me I'm not a child. I can take care of myself" I sigh and just decide to let it go. The bell rings and I know theres only two more classes left.
"Have a nice summer Aubrey. I love you" she turns away.

"Have a nice summer" she says walking away. I feel someone wrap there arm around my shoulder and I look to see Avery smiling at me.
"Did you piss her off or what?" I laugh. Avery has really been there for me these past few years and I feel like I can tell her anything.
"I think so" she laughs.
"Come on let's not be late for class" she pulls me toward chemistry and I can't help but smile.

I had my last two classes with Avery before the final bell ran and Avery and I both ran out. We walk towards my car because I offered if she wanted a ride home and she accepted. We hop in and immediately blast music from the speakers while we wait for my sister that was taking forever.

Just as I was getting impatient I saw charli and chase walking hand in and hand to my car. They stop by the car and as they were about to kiss I honk the car and Charli and chase jump so high. Avery and I die of laughter.

Charli looks at me mad and I stick my tongue out at her.
"Get in I'm getting impatient" she rolls her eyes and give chase a quick kiss. She hops in the backseat as chase waves at her.
"BYE LOSER!" I shout to him and quickly drive out of the parking lot.

"Dixie slow down I didn't even get to put on my seatbelt!" I laugh as lonr a.m comes on and I put the music louder.
"I can't I'm too excited!" I shout as I drive a little faster and Avery laughs bedside me.

"Then you wanna get loose. Actin' like a fool and lovin' that shit. Tom Cruisin', it's a movie. I'ma move in and take this. Say hop outta bed, rock out again, Hop outta bed, rock out again, Hop outta bed, rock out again, Hop outta bed, rock out again yeah" I sing along as Avery and soon Charli join in too. We all laugh as I speed down the familiar streets.

I pull up in front of Averys house and I immediately feel sad about leaving her.
"Hey don't do that face. I'll be fine" I laugh knowing she can read me like a open book.
"Have an amazing summer and have fun with all those hot chics and dudes" I laugh at her. She unbuckles her seat belt and leans over to give me a death hug.

"Have an amazing summer too Avery, I'm going to miss you" she squeezes me harder.
"I'm going to miss you way more" we finally break apart and she gives me the warmest smile.
"I love you" I smile back.
"I love you too" she turns in the seat to look at Charli.

"Bye Charli have an amazing summer" Charli smiles.
"Thanks you too" Avery looks at me one more time before getting out and shutting the door. Charli and I wave at her as she walks into her house.
"Can I ride infront with you now?" I laugh.

I packed the last of my things and had my last family dinner as I wouldn't be seeing them for a month. Not even Charli was going with me. Usually Charli and I go together but this time she said that she wanted to spend some time with chase. In the beginning I wasn't too sure about chase but he seems to be treating Charli nicely so I trust him.

"Dixie we must go to the airport now otherwise you will miss your flight" my dad says as I look at the time to see that it was 5:00 my flight is at 7:20. I get up and say my last goodbyes to everyone else. My dad drive me to the airport and I said goodbye to him too.

It was the longest wait of my life but eventually I was able to get on my flight. As I was sitting in the chair I couldn't help but think that this summer was going to be amazing.

I arrived finally after two hours and I practically ran to get my luggage and then ran to get a cab. It was about a 30 minute drive until we went through the very familiar roads and passed the beautiful houses that I know to well. We passed Robbies beach house and smiled.

Robbie is one of best friends and the nicest person I know. He always works with me as a lifeguard. We go further down until the driver stops and I pay him and get out. I get my luggage out the boot as the cab drives away I turn around and look at my house. Damn I missed this house.

It was all white and beautifully done. I walk up to the door and get my keys out unlocking the house. I step inside and breath in and out. It's good to be back.

I quickly go up the stairs to put my bags down before walking down the stairs again. I walk to the main glass door and open it. The sound of the waves hitting the sand immediately calms me. Even in the dark the ocean was so beautiful. I lean against the rail and look over turtles bay.

That's when I see a figure sitting on the beach. It was a full moon as I realised it was a girl. I look at the time on my phone as see that it was 9:45. Why would anyone be sitting alone on the beach at night?
