Anne went to her work, but before three o clock, she received a call from Mr. Walker to tell her not to come to the office anymore as they are already in the head office. Curiosity occupied her mind of what Brent wanted from her. Until she finished working, it's still bothered her.
She picked up Matt in his school before going back to Brent's apartment. When they arrive, it was only Mrs. Jones inside the apartment and already busy preparing their dinner.
Brent arrived when she was helping Mrs. Jones, putting the food in a container that she had cooked for them. It is because she will not be around for two days. Her daughter had given birth, and she will be visiting.
The delightful voice of Matt, who was already in the living room, made Anne aware of Brent's arrival. She immediately went out of the kitchen, leaving Mrs. Jones to finished everything.
Anne saw Brent carrying Matt, who is busy playing with his tie while talking. When they saw her, Matt immediately said, "Marie, daddy is here. You will not kiss daddy?"
Surprised made her looked at her son, who was still playing with his father's tie as if it is so fascinating, without even thinking that what he had said put tension on her.
"Of course, she will not kiss Brent."
This time, Anne ignored Matt but continued walking towards them.
"Brent, can I talk to you for a while?" She asked once she is in front of them. Matt looked at her as if waiting for her to do as he asked. She turned a blind eye on it this time.
"Sure," Brent answered while lowering Matt from his arms and then telling him, "to run to Mrs. Jones while he and his mommy talks," Brent's instruction helps Matt forgot as he does as told without reminding her again.
Once they were left alone, Brent looked at her and asked. "What is this you want to talk about?"
"Well, can we have it in your office?"
Good thing Brent didn't ask about her reason but instead ushered her to his office.
"So, what is it you wanted to tell me that you needed privacy?" Brent asked her once she is inside, and he had closed the door.
She turned around to see him before saying, "I wanted to talk to you about our sleeping arrangement."
"What is wrong with it?' Brent asked while he walked towards her.
Once in front of her, he looked at her with amusement in his eyes. It is as if he has an idea of what is in her mind.
"Probably, he thought whatever she is supposed to talk will include what had happened before. Of course, she will not mention it. By the way, he looked at her. Surely if she brings up what had happened a few nights ago, he might think she is expecting something from him. She mustn't let him know how it had affected her. Indifference is the best answer to salvage her pride." Anne thought while looking at him.
No matter how much she ignores her feeling, a part of her missed him, but she has to move on and forget everything.
"Oh! What is wrong with it?" She heard Brent asked which cut her musing. He then pulled her on the waist towards him, removing any space between them. She arches her back so their faces will not be that close and immediately crossed her arms on her chest.
She calmed her nerves while telling herself, "Brent is testing her if she is still affected, especially of what had happened. So, she should be consistent with what she had said before, "it was a mistake."
"The bed is too small for the three of us." She immediately said. Brent's laughter then echoes around the room, which made her rethink. It was then she realized what she had uttered. It was supposed to be "he should vacate their room."
