After following Rebekah around like a lost puppy, and her happily giving me a tour of the mansion and even introducing me to her oldest brother, Finn (Who kindaaa creeped me out) we were now in the main room, sipping drinks and she continued to tell me stories. And boy did she have a lot of them.

"It was back around the time that we were first turned, of course. We took the identity of a whole new family. It was luxurious-" Rebekah's story is cut off by Elijah making an announcement.

"Uh, if everyone could gather, please." He speaks loudly just as Rebekah excuses herself from me. Soon enough all the siblings stood on the stairs. All of them were so elegant and collected.

Would never guess they were vampires.

"Welcome, thank you for joining us. You know, whenever my mother brings our family together like this, it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance." Elijah speaks, just as an older woman slowly descends the stairs. I find myself walking towards Damon and Stefan.

"Is that her?" I ask as Stefan looks over to me, noticing my presence immediately. Damon however keeps his eyes on the original family.

"Oh, yeah." He says, looking back up to the vampires.

My eyes find their way back to Klaus who had already been looking towards me. He sends me a small wink with his familiar smirk and I quickly avert my eyes.

"Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz, so if all of you could please find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom." He says with a small smile as their mother silently goes back up to the stairs. My eyes meet with hers momentarily before she retreats completely, making a shiver run down my side.

"It'd be rude not to dance, sweetheart." A voice speaks behind me making my eyes snap away from the now empty staircase.

I turn to find the familiar hybrid with his usual smirk.

"I guess I should go find a partner." I say with a sarcastic smile before attempting to spin around. Klaus only appears in front of me.

"I think you've found him."

With a small smile he holds out his hand.

I slightly roll my eyes and give him my hand. As he leads me to the ball room I glance back to Stefan who had been watching intently. Klaus definitely scared him.

I mean obviously.

"I'm glad you came, Scarlett." He speaks as the dance begins. Kinda confused but I just went with whatever I saw everyone doing.

I keep my eyes ahead of me, while his gaze at me.

"It was this or watching a movie at home alone." I say, trying to pull the whole annoyed and uninterested act.

"You look ravishing. If I haven't already made that clear." He says, moving closer so our faces are only inches away. I feel myself blush slightly but quickly try to stop.

Scarlett, you're too cool to blush. You're hard to get and you definitely don't have a crush on this whack ass evil hybrid with anger issues.

"Well you gave me pretty much everything I'm wearing. Speaking of which, stop giving me gifts." I deadpan as he only chuckles.

I then step on his foot, which was pretty embarrassing if I do say so myself.

"Sorry." I mutter, looking down to hide the embarrassment in my eyes and also to prevent it from happening again. Klaus only lets a deep chuckle escape his lips.

"If it were anybody else I would've considered removing a foot."

Okay he was extra as fuck.

"Really?" My eyes snap back up to his in confusion as he lets out a small laugh.

"Of course not I'm no monster, Scarlett." He says as if I were silly to believe his statement.

"I mean by definition..." I trail off making him raise his eyebrows in amusement.

"So whats up with your mom? Pretty sure your entire family was planning on killing you like yesterday." I say, glancing towards Rebekah who had been dancing with Matt. She sends me a small wink.

"I've been forgiven. Speaking of which, Have you forgiven your sister and her little body guards." He says making me shrug slightly.

"Not like I have an option, can't really hold a grudge over two vampires. I'd get no where with it." I say with a sigh.

"But I can. If you wish." He speaks nonchalantly as my eyes widen slightly. Did this man just offer to be my hitman.

"Its alright, don't go around ripping someones heart out or whatever you guys do." I say cautiously making him only smirk.

Suddenly our partners change, making me confused as fuck as I pretty much stumble into Elijah who only looked down in amusement. He always seemed to be rather amused with my confusion.

Like I was a mouse in those mazes. oh my god did everyone see me as a mouse in a maze.

"I hope you're enjoying yourself tonight." He speaks with a small smile, as I begin moving my feet in tune with his.

"You guys sure know how to throw a party." I say, looking around at the dancing figures, catching the eyes of Klaus who was already looking in our direction, completely ignoring his own partner.

I see Elijah glance at him before looking to me and speaking.

"Niklaus seems rather infatuated with you." He says making my eyes snap away from his brothers.

"You think so?" I ask. I was kinda playing dumb. I knew Klaus was acting a certain way towards me. I just didn't understand why. Maybe I was falling for some trap. Who knew.

"He hasn't acted this way for quite some time. If looks could kill I would be dead." He chuckles slightly making heat rise to my cheeks.

"We're about to switch again, just so you're prepared this time." He comments, making me sigh in relief for the warning before switching partners.

Thankfully I was now dancing with Stefan and not another intimidating ass Mikaelson.

"Elijah's right. Klaus really is crushing." He says right as we begin dancing again.

"I thought you had that figured out when you literally threatened my life." I say, glaring at the man who only looks amused.

"I do. More confirmation just makes me feel smart." He says with a slight smirk before spinning me.

"Wouldn't want you getting a bigger head, might not have room for your hero hair." I joke as he only hums in response.

"You think Klaus is pulling something sus?" I ask, seriously. Stefan would be straightforward.

"No. Unless theres something we don't know. Shouldn't matter anyways. Not like you'd ever go for the guy." He shrugs slightly as my eyes widen slightly.

"Unless he's already earned a diary entry." He jokes making me shove his shoulder, as we both let out a laugh.

"I should've burnt that thing." I say, grimacing. 15 year old me was apparently relentless and didn't even think twice about crushing on her sisters boyfriend.

"It's cute." He says, his eyes meeting mine. I feel myself pause as he does, as if there was some hidden meaning in his words. I open my mouth to speak just as the song ends, everyone lets go of their partners to clap. I follow suit despite my confused gaze on Stefan.

"Stefan, I need to talk to you." Elena approaches the both of us. Her eyes move from Stefan to me and I see her stressed features soften.

"You look so good, Scar." She says, with a smile making me smile in return.

"Thank you." I say before her eyes snap back to Stefan.

"Lets go." She says, grabbing his arm to lead him outside. He flashes me one last smile before heading out with her.

Well that wasn't suspicious.
