Chapter Fourteen

June, 2015

It had been a few days since Namjoon and the guys had left for LA. They were all so busy and with Mika travelling around Asia he had barely spoken to her. When they had managed to get one another on the phone it was always so brief due to their schedules and their time differences and didn't feel right discussing the situation over a text message. This wasn't something he wanted to discuss that way and was beginning to regret not talking to her face to face when he had the chance to.

BTS had just arrived back at their hotel after a full day of interviews. Namjoon was exhausted as he had to do most of the speaking and translating so he had not been able to relax and enjoy the interviews like the others had. Sejin grabbed him before he arrived at his hotel room.

"You and I have a meeting with some staff back at BigHit offices in 5 minutes in the conference room." He said
"What about?" Namjoon asked
"I don't know, I've only just heard about it but we should go now." He replied

The 2 men made their way to one of the hotels conference rooms that had been set up as a hub for the band and the staff. Namjoon saw 2 of the other managers already in the room setting up. Both had poker faces on so if they knew what it was about they weren't giving it away. Soon the video call alert went off and Sejin answered it. Namjoons heart jumped slightly when he saw Bang PD on the screen along with a couple of senior staff.

"How are things in LA going?" Bang asked
"Good, the boys are doing a good job. Jungkooks English is improving and the others are doing well too." Namjoon answered sitting upright in his seat
"That is good to hear. I won't beat around the bush here; I have heard some news that I am not happy about." Bang said

Namjoon swallowed hard.

"It came to my attention a couple of days ago that last week you hadn't been staying at the dorms for a several nights in a row. I also heard that before a taping of a tv show with other idols you were acting out of character." He carried on

Namjoon knew instantly he had been found out. His eyes glanced over to Sejin briefly who looked surprised and worried at the same time.

"I know you boys, especially you and Taehyung have a friendship with Mika Park. So, is there anything you want to tell me?" Bang said

Namjoon hung his head and nodded. He tried to find the words, but he knew there was nothing he could say to justify lying to the company. He couldn't tell them he was in love with her as it would make it worse.

"Mika and I have been seeing each other." He said, "No one knew about it, I kept it to myself."
"Is it a fling or a relationship?" Bang asked sighing heavily
"A relationship." Namjoon answered suddenly feeling guilt
"And how long for?" he asked
"It started 2 months ago when she was in Korea visiting family. We haven't seen each other since then. She came over for work last week and I spent more time with her." He replied

Silence filled the room, the tension in the air was palpable. Bang PD leaned back in his seat, rubbing his face, letting out a frustrated sigh. Namjoon could see the disappoint in the face of the man he had a huge amount of respect for. He didn't know he would feel that amount of shame. Not shame about being in a relationship or of Mika but shame at the lying he had done, the selfishness he had exhibited and the amount of people he had let down. His fellow band mates and best friends, Sejin, the other managers, Bang PD but most importantly Mika.

"I think you already know what I am about to say. A friendship is fine, we do not have a problem with that and we are happy for a friendship between you all to continue but not a relationship." Bang finally said as Namjoon nodded, "You need to end the relationship and now. Please do not hang about with this. We need this situation sorted before anyone else finds out."
"I will." Namjoon said
"Fine. Go back to your room, I need to talk to Sejin and the other managers now." Bang said
