The next day Laura's flight left early so she was at the

airport at 6 a.m. She was excited about going with Tom

to practice that night. Finally, Tom was opening his world

up completely to her. She arrived back in Chicago about

11 a.m. then drove home and unpacked. She ate some

lunch then took a nap to get ready for that evening's practice

with Tom. Tom had called her from work he was running

late so he needed her to meet him there. Laura asked, "Can

I bring Brooke with me?" Tom laughed, "Of course you can...

why not." Laura thought he knew Brooke was an integral part

of Laura's life so if Laura was going to be around so was Brooke

so why not have them both introduced now. Tom prepared for

the fall out. He knew Trent would take this the hardest. He was

the most paranoid of things going wrong but he would assure him

nothing would change. Laura called Brooke who said, "It's about

time! What are you wearing??" Laura said just some jeans and a

cute top, jacket...maybe a scarf..." Brooke said, "Wow, covering

up so they don't see how beautiful you are or so you can take the

blows better?" They both laughed. Laura was so nervous about

the whole idea of finally meeting the band and also seeing Tom

again.

Laura pulled up at the address Tom gave her it was an old

warehouse Brooke had met here there as she was also

running late. Inside they could hear music going, very loud

music, and there were people milling around going in and

out of the warehouse. Laura stopped and just stared.

Brooke said pulling her arm and her towards the door,

"Oh come on...we've been waiting for this forever!" As

they entered the doors Tom was playing his guitar as lead,

Trent was playing second guitar; they also had a guy

playing bass guitar, and last a drummer. The song they

were playing was rocking but beautiful at the same time.

Laura found herself smiling as she watched Tom playing

because she could tell he was so happy. That's when she

saw Shelley or Rock girl rocking out in front of the band.

She had a couple of friends with her but she was definitely

playing up to Tom trying to get his attention. She was

dressed in a spaghetti string dress that was super short

and four inch heels. "Who even dresses like that for a

warehouse?" Brooke said, "Nice...floozy central I see." Her
