Chapter 21 - The Big Chill

Backstage Tom had stepped back to finish their 

equipment placement. He had to see her, he 

couldn't decide how he was going to handle it...

one way or another though he was dealing with 

her tonight. Trent then came back and shouted 

"Thomas!" in his most fatherly type voice. Tom 

said, "Trentony!" back at him in the same parental

tone. They both laughed....Trent added now

normal voice "Are we almost ready there tech guy?"

Tom responded "Yes we are ready as we will ever be." 

The rest of the band members had come back with

them finishing their prep as well. Tom looked at 

Trent and said, "She's here you know." Trent tried to 

be surprised and confused about it and asked, "who's

here?' Tom punched him in the arm then hard. Trent 

made a painful face and exclaimed, "Ow!" The other

band members looked at them briefly but not for long 

as Trent and Tom were always screwing around on and 

off stage. Tom said scolding him, "You know, you bought 

her a drink for God's sake." Trent confessed, "Oh, you saw

that huh?" Tom said, "Yes." Trent responded "Want me to

get her?" Tom said, "I don't know, yes, I think." Trent added,

"Yes, you should." Tom replied, "She lied." Trent, "Not 

technically, she omitted..." Tom punched his arm again

hard. Trent exclaimed, "Ow!!!, Asshole! At least do the other

 arm. Damn, I may not be able to play now" he whined. 

Tom said, "Good..." and smiled at him. Tom then peeked 

back out of the curtain towards the bar where Laura had 

been sitting there were two guys. Even Brooke was not in 

sight. What? Tom said, "Where did they go?" Trent looked 

out now, "I don't know they were just there on the end." 

Tom thought great she changed her mind and had left 

without even seeing them play. Just what he thought, she 

can't handle the bar scene and the band life. It was a good 

thing he figured this out before they married. He still 

ached though to see her one more time.

Just then Tom heard a voice behind him that said, 

"Excuse me, would you mind getting me that band's

 autograph?" Tom didn't recognize the voice but as 

he turned he stopped immediately. There she was 

standing in front of him, so beautiful. Her heels brought 

her closer to his face and he wanted nothing more
