13 - Destruction

Happy held his hand up to his ear. There was something in his ear and he was talking into it.

"I'm here, I'm here," Happy assured the person he was talking to. "I bought us some time..."

A small hole appeared and sparks began appearing, growing bigger and bigger.

"But not much..." Happy said.

The droids were able to break the doors and corner the group.

"Are we going to die?" Flash asked, fearfully.

"No one is going to die in my watch," Happy said.

"I wasted my life playing video games and we're gonna die!" Ned said.

"I have a fake ID and I've never even used it!" Betty said.

"I post stupid videos daily for people to like me!" Flash said.

"Hey, if it weren't for those stupid videos, Spider - Man and the Spark would've never found you," Happy said.

"Spark's here?" Chase said, excitedly.

"Yes, she is," Happy said. "She's here to help Spider - Man. They work together."

"Spider - Man - Spider - Man follows me?" Flash said, excitedly. "I saved us, guys."

"If you saved us, why are we going to die?" MJ asked, angrily.

"MJ!" Betty said.

"Hey!"

"Stop it!" Happy said.

"I'm sorry, okay?" MJ said. "I'm obsessed with telling the truth, even if it hurts other people's feelings."

"I died once and I'm not gonna die again!" Chase said.

"I'm in love with Spider - Man's aunt," Happy revealed.

They all looked at Happy.

"We're sharing, right?" Happy asked.

"Well, I'm not sharing anything," Hailey said.

"Yeah, me neither," Chase added.

Right at that moment, everything stopped.

They opened the doors to see the droids on the ground. Hailey took off running.

She ran onto the bridge. 

Cars were destroyed and there was smoking coming up.  Some cards were on fire.

Peter was limping and grunting as he walked.

"Hailey," he said.

She threw the weapon on the ground and hugged him. He was covered in dirty and his nose was bleeding.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"I'm okay, are you okay?" he asked. 

"Yeah," she said.

"What about everyone else? Are they okay?"

"Everyone's okay," she assured him. 

"What happened?"

Hailey let him go. 

"There was just the drones, they - they were following us, then - then they just stopped," she stuttered. "Was - was that you?"

"Yeah," he nodded.

"Did you get him?" she asked.

"Yeah," he said.

"Well, I, um..." she turned to the weapon she had on the ground, "brought that. In case you needed some help."

Peter smiled. "Thanks," he chuckled.

"There was this sweaty guy," Hailey said. "He said something about working with you and the Spark. He, um... he gave me this."

She pulled a broken necklace from her pocket to show Peter.

"Oh, no," he groaned. "I'm sorry, Hailey. I had this stupid plan. I write it down. I was gonna buy you this and gave it to you in Paris at the top -"

Hailey cut him off by kissing him.

"And you kissed me," Peter said. "What? What?"

"Yeah," she said, her face turning red.

He smiled. "How - how did you know?"

"Other than the Spider - Man secret, you're terrible at keeping secrets," she said. "And I lied. I didn't watch you just because I thought you were Spider - Man."

He smiled and chuckled. 

"That's great."

"Black dahlia," she said, smiling.

"I'm sorry it's broken," Peter said, guilty. 

"I like it better broken," she said.

"I really like you," Peter said.

"I like you too," she smiled.

Peter took a few steps towards her and kissed her.

"I should probably head back to the class," she said.

"Yeah," he said.

Hailey picked up the weapon and headed back and Peter headed in the opposite direction.

Peter took Hailey's hand as they followed the class. 

They just got to the Newark airport in New Jersey.

"If you do anything to my sister, I won't hesitate to fucking murder you, Parker," Chase threatened.

"I won't," Peter promised.

Hailey smiled and rolled her eyes at her brother.

"Leave him alone, Chase," Elizabeth said.

Families were waiting for the class and happily greeted them when they got to them.

"Are you sure nobody else figured it out?" Peter asked Hailey.

"Yeah," Hailey said. "It's not like anybody is really paying attention to you."

"Ouch."

"Oh! Sorry, poor choice of words," she apologized. 

"Hailey! Chase!" she heard her mother call them.

"Don't be late," Hailey said.

"I won't," he promised.

She smiled and headed to her parents

"See you later."

She waved at him. 

Her parents hugged her and Chase tightly.

"Thank God you two are okay," their mother said in relief.

They headed out of the airport and headed home.
