16 - The News

"What the -" Peter exclaimed.

Cars honked.

"Indeed, folks," J. Jonah Jameson said, "Spider - Man is Peter Parker."

There was a crowd surrounding Hailey and Chase.

"Are you Spider - Man's girlfriend?" a man asked Hailey.

"Huh?" Hailey was too focused on Peter and the television to notice the crowd.

"Don't touch her!" Chase snapped at the man.

"Are you friends with Spider - Man?" another asked Chase.

"Don't touch me," he snapped at the other man.

Peter jumped down from the street lamp.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Peter said. "Please don't touch them."

"You're just a kid," a man said.

"Did you murder Mysterio?" another person asked.

"You helped him murder Mysterio?" another person asked Hailey and Chase.

The crowd was circling around, Hailey, Chase and Peter at this point.

Hailey took her brother's hand, overwhelmed by everything.

"No, I -" Peter began.

A woman began to reach over to Peter but he gently pushed her arm away.

"He hit me!" the woman exclaimed. "Spider-Man hit me! He hit me. Spider-Man hit me!"

"Whoa!" 

"Get on," Peter told Chase.

Peter held onto Hailey and they walked away from the crowd.

Before Peter swung away, Chase jumped onto Peter's back and Peter shot a web.

A man tried to jump and catch Peter but failed.

Hailey and Chase began screaming in fear.

Peter's face was on every giant screen in New York and J. Jonah Jameson's voice could be heard talking about Peter Parker being public enemy number one. 

"I'm never doing this ever again!" Hailey said.

She closed her eyes and buried her face in Peter's neck. 

Without looking, she accidentally placed her hand over Peter's face.

"Hailey, I can't see with your hand on my face!" Peter said.

"Shit, sorry!"

"Oh, dear god, I'm gonna throw up!" Chase said.

His face began turning green.

They swung past screens with Peter's face half covered with the Spider - Man mask covered over it and 'Public Enemy #1" over his face.

They landed on top of a structure.

Peter pulled out his phone and immediately got onto a video call with Ned.

"Dude!"

"Dude!"

"Oh, my God," Hailey said in fear.

She looked down to see how far above the ground.

"Oh, God," Chase said, equally afraid.
