Poor Kathy had received a rant from Penelope on the Tuesday morning, stating her troubles with family and Cedric.

It seems the two had finally caught up with their feelings, and they were having to face them without the comfort of friends nearby, which is what led to Kathy have to read two lettered all in one morning whilst trying to prepare for school.

She had managed to get dressed quickly and walk hastily to breakfast, that's where she decided she should read them, since she had nothing better to do.

She had sat down next to a chatting Charlotte, who was raging on about something to Rosie, who nodded along with what she was saying.

Dear Kat,
It's me, your amazing friend Penelope, and if you don't remember me....well you're in for a shock next time I see you.

Anyways, I decided to write to you because I'm not going to rant on to my parents, Cedric insisted that we were to go on a date...cause we kissed and now it's a necessity apparently.

I have no idea what to do whatsoever, what do I Where? How do I even act? If we do decide to date, and we split up, will we still be friends?

This whole matter just seems to be a mess, and I can't throw anything at you to get rid of my frustration, so this is the only way how.

You owe me some serious ranting time when I next see you, how dare you stay in school while I have to suffer?

Please write back soon,
Your favourite.

Kathy almost chuckled to herself as she read the letter, it seemed Penelope had certainly finally lost it, mentally and emotionally.

She had no idea what advice to give to Penelope, as she had never really dated anyone before, there was something in between Fred and her, but that was it, she's never had a boyfriend.

She let out a huff as she ripped open Cedric's.

Kathy,

I told you not to call me whiskers! I don't know why you insist in—oh merlin, I'm getting off point here.

What I mean to say, or write, is that I asked Penny out on a date and she actually agreed.

I know, surprising.

I did bribe her with food though, so now I have to make sure there is loads of that., the point of this letter is a thanks for pushing me out towards Penelope during the summer.

We wouldn't be a thing without you, and I wanted to say my thanks.

Regards,
Cedric.

Kathy did laugh at this letter however, the way Cedric had signed it off seemed so, old-man-ish.

She shoved the two letters into her bag, and decided that she'd answer them later, for now she needed to think on what she had been sent.

Which means that she would probably be knitting until she let herself write down something that sounded like good advice.

She reached for a waffle and placed it onto her plate, spreading some butter over it gently before taking a few nibbles at it.

She hoped that the date would go well.
