Eret, son of Eret x reader; Love always start in fight

Part 40: insecurities

Y/N POV:
The air is slightly chilly as the sun is just rising up on the sky. I was dressed in new, freshly washed and dried clothes and I was ready for a new day. I have styled my hair how I like it and today was my day. Today was my day to feel like a princess. I almost skip to the stables and get d/n to go on my morning scouting rounds.

When nothing is seen, I fly to the great hall for breakfast. I smile brightly when I see Eret. But... he didn't look back at me. He was talking to Lisa. A lump builds in my stomach but I remain my happy self. I walk over to them. None of the two notice me. So I clear my throat. They both look to me.
-Hello Y/N! Lisa says.
-Good morning love, Eret says and smiles at me. I smile.
-I didn't mean to interrupt your conversation, I just... came to say good morning, I say and nod to them.
-Oh, no worries! We were just talking about how we both have a habit of forgetting the fire on, Lisa says.
-Oh yeah! I've almost set fire to the house 5 times in the past months, Eret says and they laugh. My smile falling as they laugh with each other. I muster up a smile.
-Well, I'm just grabbing something quick and then I'll head out on more scouting. You wanna fly today Eret? I ask.
-Oh no, sorry, I can't. I'm helping Hiccup with something, Eret says and it felt as if my heart was pumping extra fast.
-No worries. I'll see you both later, I say and walk away to grab breakfast, before quickly running outside and flying away with d/n.

I try to keep my mind at bay, but I can't help but to wander.
-What if he likes her d/n? What if he secretly always crushed on Lisa, but just settled with me? I tell my dragon, who gurgles sadly. I sigh and put a hand on their head.
-I know it's weird... but what if it's true... what do I do then? I ask and d/n growls.
-I know, I know, it's just- D/n cuts me off with a loud roar and I look ahead.
A trio of boats was there, heading right for us. And we are just outside of Berk.... My mind erases all concerns about Eret and Lisa and I quickly maneuver to a nearby rock. D/n flies behind the rock so that the boats doesn't see us, but we see them. When the boats pass us, I quickly fly down to follow them. We hear men arguing and talking loudly below us.
Then I hear some concerning words.
-What do we do when we finally get him then? I hear.
-We give him a bigger reason to stay, than go back, a man says and I see them take out a red, glowing metal piece from a fire. I gasp loudly and the men look up at me.
-There's one! Get her! The leader shouts.
-D/n, fly fast! I beg them and they nod and fly away as fast as they can back to Berk.

Well there, I jump off of D/n and run towards Hiccup, who was strangely alone.
-Y/N, what's wrong? Hiccup asks when he sees my distressed face.
-There's dragon trappers just outside the bay and they're here to kidnap Eret, I say shakily. Hiccups eyes widen.
-Alright... alright, stay right here, I'll find Eret and then we'll lead them away, Hiccup says and runs away into town. I think about what would happen to Eret if he got kidnapped, as if Lisa wasn't enough of a problem. I bite nervously on my lips as I start thinking about Lisa and Eret again. She had had her hair in a flawless braid, her clothes hung perfectly on her figure and the way they laughed together.... me and Eret never has something like that in common. D/n interrupts my thoughts by nudging me. I sigh and hop onto the saddle and I fly off to gather the rest of the gang.

When we're all on our dragons, Hiccup joins us and nods at me.
-Show me, he says and I nod back. I turn towards where I last saw the boats and sure enough, they had moved closer to Berk.
-Hiccup, what do we do? Astrid asks.
-We'll... We'll lead them away... make them think Berk is somewhere else, Hiccup says.
-You mean...? Fishlegs asks. Hiccup nods.
-Aw yeah! We finally get to scream all we want on a mission! Ruffnut celebrates and the twins high five. So we do exactly that.

The twins shouted loudly about how excited they were to get home and everyone else just agreed and played along. I went in the back to see if they followed us, and they did, all the way to a deserted island. The trappers followed us onto the island and was ready to fight us, but we burned down their boats....
-Life's rough boys, I say and fake salute them as we fly back towards Berk. They growl angrily and yell unfriendly words at us as we disappear from their view.

When we get back to Berk, Eret is still no where to be seen. We gather in the stables.
As everyone begins celebrating the mission, my tears start building up and I start crying.
-Y/N... Whats wrong? Astrid points out and everyone's attention turns to me. I sniffle and shake.
-Eret... I can only say before I start full on sobbing. Astrid sits down next to me.
-Y/N, we drove away the trappers. They're stuck on that island, he's not in danger anymore, Hiccup says and Astrid begins rubbing my back.
-It's not that! I say angrily.
-What? What did Eret do? I'll break his back! Snotlout threatens. I shake my head.
-No! He was just talking to Lisa and they laughed together and I... I don't know, I guess I got jealous, I say.
-Of what? Astrid asks and I sniffle.
-Lisa's just so pretty. Her braids are always flawless and-and she always looks so beautiful. I could never be that! I say.
-Y/N, of course you're beautiful, Snotlout says sadly and makes me stand up. I look down on him and lean down to rest my head on his shoulder.
-So what... I'm not funny. I can't crack jokes. I can't talk to people my own age and I'm never relatable, I say.
-Lisa is just everything. She's everything a man wants... Eret deserves better... I say sadly as tears continues to fall down my cheeks.

Eret POV:
I heard an angry "it's not that!" From the stables as I walk towards the stables.
I stop when I hear Snotlout threaten me, which makes me stop outside the doors and listen to the conversation.
-No! He was just talking to Lisa and they laughed together and I... I don't know, I guess I got jealous, I hear Y/N say and my chest gets heavy.
-Of what? Astrid asks Y/N.
-Lisa's just so pretty. Her braids are always flawless and-and she always looks so beautiful. I could never be that! Y/N cries and my heart breaks a little. They continue to talk and I crack the door open slightly to see what's going on.

-Lisa is just everything. She's everything a man wants... Eret deserves better... Y/N says defeatedly and cries onto Snotlouts shoulder. Suddenly Astrid and Hiccup sees me and waves me in and points to Y/N. I sigh and the door creaks as I walk inside.

Y/N POV:
-Oh Y/N... I hear Eret's voice, and I turn around to see him walk into the stables. I quickly try to hide my face and dry my tears. But Eret grabs my face and dries them for me.
-I'm sorry I made you doubt yourself Y/N... he says and a lump builds in my stomach.
-It doesn't matter... I shrug.
-Yes it does, Y/N... Eret says and guides my eyes to his.
-You walk with such confidence that I didn't think you needed me to remind you of how gorgeous and eye-catching you look, Eret says and tears start falling again.
-I'm sorry I'm making it an inconvenience for you, I say angrily.
-No Y/N... I will tell you everyday that you're the most stunning, beautiful woman I've ever met if you need me to. Because it's true, he says and smiles softly at me. I look away in shame.
-Y/N? He says and I look at him again.
-You look absolutely stunning today, love, he says and I smile.
-Thank you... I whisper. Eret kisses my forehead softly.
-It's alright to have insecurities, love... but you'll always be stunning in my eyes, Eret says and I lean into his embrace.
-I love you.... I say and he repeats after me.

-So what we're you doing "with Hiccup"? I then ask. Eret chuckles.
-He was helping my seamstress with my new shirt, Eret says and I notice that he's wearing a scaled shirt. I smile.
-There's just something about you in dragon scales that makes my heart go- EEEEEWWW!Snotlout and the twins shout out loudly as Fishlegs awe's.
