Chapter 12

Theo’s POV- (when Shai leaves)

Shai is gone for her TFIOS Tour and while she’s gone, I decide to get her the dog that we’ve been talking about. We talked about having a golden retriever or maybe a terrier, but we hadn’t fully decided yet.

I drive down to the pet store and enter the spacious store. It’s a store with white walls and gray tile floors. This is a pet store just for dogs, so there are many dogs spread around the room. 

Some are in cages, while some are in pens on the ground. I walk through the store, looking at pomeranians, poodles, basically every type of dog that you know. I look through the store for about a half hour and choose an adorable little teacup terrier male with black, gold, and white fur. It’s in a cage, so I walk up to the front desk to ask someone for it.

The worker is wearing a white uniform, with a black hoodie.

“Excuse me, but um, I would like to purchase the teacup terrier in the cage over there,” I motion my finger towards the back of the store, with the little puppy in it. 

“Sure thing.”

The worker walks out and heads towards the crate. They hand me the crate and I get the major supplies for the dog. I say that I’m ready to purchase everything and we head towards the desk.

I set the items and the crate down with the scared, little dog in it, onto the checkout table. The worker goes behind the desk and checks everything out. They put all the items in bags, except for the crate. Then the worker goes around and goes in front of the desk near me.

As they get near, I slightly start to back away. This seems odd.

The worker pulls off their hood, and reveals a blond head. A woman. Suddenly, she grabs my shirt and pulls me in and kisses me. I strangle but her grip is too strong. I see a flash of a camera and panick. I get out of her grip and stare into her evil eyes. Ruth.
