Evankhell's POV

I was supposed to be immune from pain. I was supposed to be detached from fear. I was supposed to be above caring.

But the moment I saw her getting farther away from me, I realized I too am capable of being disgustingly human.

Something cold seemed to grip my heart before I was able to force a stern resolve inside me.

No.

I shouldn't break down. I should keep my act together before it's too late.

Before I lose her altogether to that fcking bastard.

That was where the magic happened. That was where I surrendered myself to feelings I once thought were damnable. That was were I  uttered the three words that used to taste like poison in my tongue since my mother left me.

I grabbed my phone and made a run towards my car. I activated my AI assistant while starting the car's engine. "Rio, call Aaron."

"Calling, Aaron... Ringing..."

A small beep told me that Aaron have answered my call.

"Yo, Van, miss-"

"Check the flight schedules today," I said, briskly cutting him off. "See the list of  helicopters with permission to access the airoplateu driveway."

"What's this all of a sudden, Van?"

"Just do it," matigas kong pahayag.

As if sensing the desperation in my voice, Aaron hang up after a short 'okay'.

I mindlessly navigated the way back to our mansion. She had been carrying this burden for too long while keeping a smile to her face. Ilang gabi ba siyang umiyak? That man killed Kien, she would never go with him unless it's absolutely necessary.

Was she threatened? Nagtagis ang mga bagang ko.

Why didn't you tell me, Shakia? Why the fck didn't you just tell me?!

I felt the sting of tears in my eyes. Fck.

I would have done everything in my power to help you. I would have... Goddamn it!

I jogged inside the mansion right after pulling my car over.

"Do you know where she is?!"

My usually calm half-brother grabbed both of my shoulders as he stared at me.

Para akong nabuhusan ng malamig na tubig. They already knew. I ran here immediately in the hopes that Agustav or any of her siblings has any idea of where she might have been taken. They too are clueless.
