After the astonishment of recent events, Aurora had not anticipated attending the Grand Picnic that was to be held, however, Eloise Bridgerton taunchly declared that she would not be going unless the Grey girl did. And so here she was, hidden amongst all the other Bridgertons underneath their exquisite pale blue tent.

She had thankfully managed to escape the clutches of her aunt by promenading with Benedict Bridgerton - with whom she spent the entire time laughing about other people's gowns.

Although she would not say so, Aurora was a little disappointed at the Viscount's absence. She imagined it would have been somewhat uncomfortable at first but she would have liked to use the picnic as an opportunity to start afresh. And the

longer she left it until they did clear things over, the more she feared it may become a permanent issue.

Regardless, she was still determined to enjoy the picnic.

The Bridgerton party - Aurora included - must have been there for at least an hour before any notable events occurred. And this event was most notable indeed.

Aurora was sat on the blanket which took up most of the Bridgerton's tent, playing with Daphne's son when Lord Reginald Harding approached her requesting that they promenade together.

Reginald Harding was a tall man of twenty-one years of age. He had long blonde hair which nearly reached should length and kind brown eyes. Aurora knew him to be a gentle man with a strong love of reading and dogs.

She had to admit that she was somewhat surprised by Lord Harding's proposal but, at Daphne's suggestion, she agreed to walk with him. He was certainly handsome and would be a good match for her.

They walked for some time in a comfortable silence before Lord Harding spoke.

"It is a lovely day, is it not?"

Aurora smiled at him and halted, gazing over the river and lawns.

"Yes, it is lovely. A perfect day for such an event."

Reginald nodded, "we are indeed lucky."

Another extended silence began.

"I hear you like reading, Lord Harding." Aurora attempted to rekindle the conversation. It was clear to her that he was quite awkward around the presence of women.

"Yes!" He exclaimed loudly before blushing a vibrant red. "Yes, this morning I just completed Dr. Faustus. It was very interesting and I think I should like to see it when it is next performed."

Aurora was relieved to have elicited so many words from the man. It was a rarity.

"How interesting! I have just finished Mary Wollstonecraft's manifesto myself. An acquaintance suggested it to me and I have enjoyed it immensely."

Aurora could not help but recall the disastrous proposal with some humour.

"An acquaintance?" Reginald prodded, intrigued.

The Grey woman paused, uncertain whether or not to admit the identity of her acquaintance.

"Viscount Bridgerton, actually."

Lord Harding hardly reacted, an almost imperceptible nod. Aurora was surprised at his lack of a response.

"Yes, I've gathered you spend quite a lot of time at the Bridgerton's. And the viscount is a most worthy suitor."

Aurora nearly choked on the lemonade she was drinking.

"Suitor? I-"

"Oh forgive me, my Lady. Poor choice of wording, I would never assume anything of the sort I - I" Lord Harding began to stutter nervously and Aurora had to place a hand on his arm to comfort him.

She smiled kindly before speaking "it is quite alright, my Lord. I did not assume you meant anything. Shall we return to the picnic?"

"Yes, do lead the way, Lady Grey."

And with that they began their return to the Bridgerton tent where Daphne sat awaiting a full debrief on their promenade.

Sorry this is short! Little introduction to Reggie. I cannot wait to see what accidental mischief he causes.

Also, Aurora's brothers will be joining in the narrative soon!
