THIRD PERSON'S POV:

While the meeting was going on, Chris couldn't help but think about Avery. It wasn't that he felt attraction, no, he felt something else. Looking at her today reminded him of someone he had not seen since years. The memories of his wife flooded his mind, how he missed her, she was his one and only. Her leaving him had made him realize his mistakes that he had once made, his choices had taken away the only thing he used to cherish in his life.

Roman could tell that his client wasn't paying complete attention to the meeting and was lost in some thoughts. He had known this man since the very start of his company. He was one of the person who had supported him in his early days of company, not just financial, the trust that he had shown, the moral support he had given were somethings he would be forever grateful of. Not just this he had also helped him, and guided him when he faced problems. He respected this man like his father, and seeing him in some sort of dilemma made him want to take away his problem.

"What is on your mind today, Chris? I can tell you are feeling well, something is bothering you. Please do tell, what is it? Can I help?" he couldn't help but ask.

His question took Chris by surprise, because he didn't knew Roman had noticed his thoughts, but him showing concern and worry for him, he felt happy. The man admired Roman right from the beginning. His determination to build his company and hard work at such a young age, the boy had received his respect and it was one of the main reason he had invested in his company, when everyone said otherwise. The boy wasn't some rich brat who decided to establish something of his own, no, he was an orphan boy working day and night to come to the position he in today.

"Oh it's nothing really. Just remembered my lovely wife, you know the story, my child. Don't worry about this old man." He tried to dismiss the topic because he knew he couldn't burden the young man in front of him with his problems, he had his fair share of troubles himself. He had told his life story to him before, and the boy had decided to help him since then, despite his constantly telling him not to he had decided to search for his wife.

"Your answer doesn't satisfy me Chris, but remember I will always be here." Roman answered smiling, because he knew the man, he won't tell him anything even if something was troubling him. The man still blamed himself and felt grief and guilt for a mistake he made years ago, he admired his love for his wife.

Thinking of this forced him to think of a certain someone who makes him happy. Just with one thought about her he felt himself smiling wider.

The content smile of Roman's face didn't go unnoticed by Chris, never had he seen him smiling so wide, whatever is the reason must be dear to his heart. The young man he remembered used to be cold and indifferent to people, but today him looking like this he knew someone had molten the ice he froze around his heart, after all he was once just like him.
