Mentions of a scene in Season 3. Also listen to "Blackout" by Charlotte OC. I listened to that as I wrote this! I hope y'all liked it!

Chapter 18: Third Person POV (Zelena) -

Her hand shuts the cover of her diary before she slides the pen back into the front cover. Following her escalation with a much longer inhalation, Zelena rises onto her feet. She picks up her backpack from its hanging position on the back of the chair, stuffing her diary into it between her binder and AP Literature textbook. Haphazardly tossing it over her shoulder, she pulls her phone out from her back pocket to search through her contacts. Between Demetri being an extreme version of his pessimistic self, not having enough time in the school day to have a needed conversation Sam, the Cobras inviting her back, Hawk being an ass, and Kreese haunting her- she isn't in the right headspace for classes today.

Tapping on the pirate map beside an eye in her contacts, she proceeds with a bubble tap that allows her to type her message.

Hey. I really did try. But I can't be here today. Dem is mad at me. Sam and I can't speak. And I just feel like I'm suffocating. I'm skipping out the rest of the day. See you later?

She walks out of the library, stepping into the Galway filing with eager students the second the bell rings. A red mohawk catches her attention to her left so she presses her body against the general floor of students to escape to the right. Going the longer way to avoid Hawk seems the better option. Her phone buzzes in her palm repeatedly and she knows it's a phone call.

She steals a peek at the brightened screen for the caller ID. Her right index finger presses the single side button on her iPhone to effectively silence the call.

'Hmm. They do have mango-avocado rolls.' She contemplates her lunch option after having driven around Reseda aimlessly for two hours before pulling over and having a mental breakdown in an empty parking lot for another 90 minutes. 'If I have a reaction and die, I die.' She outwardly shrugs along with her careless thought, putting her car in park in the spot she'd been sitting in for about four minutes.

Her body feels heavy and her chest aches, her stomach burning from all the screaming she's done while sobbing her heart out. She has a consideration to call Aisha but she didn't need to carry worry for Zelena. So the latter decided against it. Her thumb slides to the left against the rectangular message box to read Miguel's series of texts she'd ignored during her session.

Come back to school.
I told Demetri. He's sorry and worried about you.
You missed a pop quiz😬
Are you okay?
I'm worried! Message me back!
Please.

Her feet pauses at the edge of the curb where the black parking lot turns to gray cement. Her thumbs rap away at the virtual keyboard, trying to find the right message to send.

I'm ok. Still not coming back.

She pockets the phone again, not interested in awaiting another pleasing message from her friend. It buzzes as she takes a single step toward the building. Focusing on her order occupies her slightly guilty conscience for ignoring the buzzing. As she turns the corner,a familiar older man is seated at an outside table staring at his half eaten dish with a mix of disgust and intrigue.

Her body jerks to a stop, unsure now if she should leave, go talk to him, or ignore him and order her food. A loud grumble from beneath her chest decides for her and she instantly regrets not eating this morning because then she'd have more time. But she listens to her angry stomach and ambles through the restaurant's entrance.
