my mind shot in a
million
different directions
sirens
ghosts
angels
gods
but somewhere
in the tangled
golden
threads of chaos
i landed on
"you"
i've never met
anyone
who understands me
so wholly
completely
the way that you do
i've never met
anyone
who makes me laugh
this hard
i never thought
i'd consider anybody
perfect
besides princesses
in storybooks
yet you're
perfect
in my eyes
capable of doing
no wrong
so maybe you're not
really human
maybe you're
superhuman
or something
similar
maybe you're
fiction
and maybe i'm
fabricating
everything we have
out of the
nothing that exists
the dull, gray void
of emptiness
that lies between us
like the two thousand
miles
stretching from
your front door
to mine
so yes,
you
are my favorite
mythical
fictional creature
and what we have—
what we
could
have—
is pure, liquid
magic.
