desperately
torn off silks
and limbs twisted in
sheets
sweat soaked hours
that echo through your
mind
following you down the
darkened hallway
in the morning
i long to be loved
desperately
lips caught between
teeth
and joyrides in the
darkness
dancing recklessly
on rooftops
and pausing
to scream at the
gods
who cursed us to be
fallen angels
i demand to be loved
desperately
trampled roses
forgotten in the
rush
of stumbling through
doors
and backing down
driveways
the sharp shouts of
laughter
and the brief reminders
of humanity-
of fleeting beauty-
of human existence
i will be loved
desperately
pushed against
balustrades
and hanging out of
windows
touch-starved
skin
pressed clean by old night
winds
that have
blown through the sky
for centuries
i will love
desperately
passion expressed with
hunger
claws and canines and
anger
shot glasses
clacking against
teeth
that will speak the soft syllables
of your name with
piety
that will carve out a
place
in the world
for you and i
together
i would give my soul
ten times over
to love
and to be loved
but only if it is
desperately.
