maybe perhaps should have chosen a different title ahaha... this one's related to "give me" as in they're about the same people... over the course of the past week, i've written around twenty poems about this particular storyline, if you will. i'm thinking of publishing them in another poetry book once i finish "to the dreamers"! thoughts???

cream colored silks
are tossed over
armchairs
in my flat
and though you're
gone right now
i can't get you
out of my head
keys jingle
in the doorway
strong hands
come down
on my shoulders
and though i know
this is all an
illusion
i can't help but
smile

cream colored silks
make up the sheets
which aren't made
right now
because you're lying
in them
with me
you're bathed in the
golden
streaming through the
window
i want more than these
moments
beautiful as they are

cream colored sorrows
lay painted on my
face
your foot taps mine
under the table
once, twice
i glance up, and you're
smiling
as though she's not
sitting next to you
and it hurts because
having you is
destroying me
more than
wanting you
ever did
