on the brink

of collapse

the institution

the patriarchy

have taken our

hopes

and cradled them

crushed them

in their hands

like the delicate

wings

of a butterfly

when a child

squeezes

too hard

dreams are for the

moments

at the end of the

world

while we're

frantically

sending out

radio transmissions

while the ground

is crumbling

beneath our feet

and our orderly

suburban lives

have gone to

pot

they're for the

brief minutes

that feel

like the

beginning

of

time

the cracks, the

glitches

in the

matrix

that are only visible

just before the

dawn

while the

earth

is silent

and there is only

peace

and simple belonging

dreams are for the
