that could
ruin worlds
for the both of us
put your arms
over your head
when you stretch
so i can
pretend
to run my fingers
over your skin
for once
in the place of my
eyes
place your words
on porcelain dishes
and serve them to
me
delicately
because one should
never be served
bad news
with the frankness
you tend to effuse
take your heart
and hand it over
i'll set it down in the
jewelry box
you gave me in
jest
because jewelry boxes
are for the
rings
from you that i will
never have
but i have your heart.

for now,

i have you.
